  1. Well I'm sure this is something we can all agree on at least. Buh-bye scumbag!
  2. I wish I hadn't dropped out of the last one, and I told myself I'd join the next one for sure, but I'm just way too busy right now and don't wanna hold you guys up. Maybe I'll host a fall swap or something. I really need to get the vise back out...haven't tied a fly since December. Have fun y'all.
  3. I would stop often to do a lot of fishing and playing around, because you could easily do that float in a day. Remember that section of river is a Smallmouth Management Area and be sure to know your regs! Have a good time...that's one of the prettiest stretches of river in the state.
  4. I'm gonna give myself a nice pat on the back for staying out of that one even though I was itching to jump in. Those debates sure look different when you're watching from the sidelines and not participating...all I saw was a bunch of generalizing and stereotyping, mis-information through regurgitated talk-radio and cable news, and zero changed minds.
  5. Those giant thunderstorms are mysterious creatures. O'fallon had giant hail, a tornado touched down in Harvester, and I'm in St. Peters smack-dab between the two and got nothing but lightning and heavy rain. Guess I lucked out this time. The footage of Bridgeton is a heartbreaker...those poor people.
  6. You really are a Native American, Chief...either that or your dad is a roofer. Nice smallie for Pops there, BTW. You guys take that one off of Prater's gravel bar?
  7. I believe that if someone interferes or harrasses with a person fishing within the banks of a stream or river that has been accessed by way of a public boat launch put in by the Missouri Department of Conservation, then the harrasser/interferer should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. The state of Missouri has laws in place to keep this from happening and yet it still happens all the time. The only way to stop this type of harrassment and intimidation is to punish the law breakers. This stream, Shoal Creek, has obviously been deemed navigatable by someone in the higher powers of the states government, or the MDC would not have put a public boat launch on the stream in order for the public to navigate it. I, Eric McCartney Harrison Starr, demand that something be done in order to correct this wrong doing and to insure that it does not happen again.
  8. You guys won't need beer...Cricket's gonna be there. You'll feel plenty confused by the end of the day. Have fun y'all. Wish I could make it. Next time, hopefully.
  9. I dunno how you guys can stand throwin' a spinnerbait with a spinning reel...it's like using one of those old-timey coffee grinders.
  10. I stand corrected. It's awesome to hear there's some spawning going on down there.
  11. What a beast! Great fish.
  12. Someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe there are any stream-born browns in NFoW. I think I heard they stocked a bunch of little ones around Patrick(?) earlier in the year. I wouldn't worry about it, though...I'm sure it felt just as good to catch it and it was a nice specimen.
  13. Not big, not wild, but definitely pretty and better than any brown I've caught out of NFoW...that would be a big ol' donut for me. Nice job Jason. Love the red spots.

We did JF last April right around this time, and I'm pretty sure the Mountain View gage was just above 3.0. Great floating, a few "exciting" moments (including a punctured canoe hull), mediocre fishing. The section from the Prongs to 17 was the most challenging water to float. I actually prefer JF when it's dead low and you're dragging, but I'm a weirdo.
  15. Joe, entertaining and hilarious as always, but I'm with OB...it's just a cigar.
  16. I wouldn't worry about it, Jason. I got it and had a laugh. I think Scudz may not follow the garbage tabloid news that closely, and good for him...but he does sound a lot like the real-life Rick Vaughn.
  17. Let's use this as a perfect example of why, after passing a background check, you should be subject to a thorough psychological examination before handed a pistol. J/K buddy. Mostly.
  18. Gotta disagree with ya there, Mitch...Phil shuts 'em down when we start bickering over politics, not when one side or the other speaks. My hat's off to him for staying relatively impartial and letting both sides state their opinions until it gets to the point where we're just slinging mud. And I really think you're mispercieving a bias. I don't know Phil personally, but if I had to make a guess based on what I do know about him, I wouldn't peg him as a flaming liberal, that's for sure...but maybe I'm wrong (but I'm not). I think he does a good job of fairly policing his forum...he cuts a lot of slack to those of us who routinely bend and break his clearly stated rules.
  19. Those Yeti's are sweet. If I were rich I'd have two. But I use an old blue Coleman I found on the side of the road, lashed down like Wayne said. Whatever keeps beer cold and fits where you want it is the right cooler for a canoe.
  20. My apologies to the poster for my blunt comments...I stand by them but I should have said it more diplomatically.
  21. If you wanna kill some fish by throwing them on gravel for a photo, how about doing it at a park where it doesn't matter? Just sayin'. Go ahead and berate me...I don't care. It's wrong.
  22. Jason, you can clearly see what's happening to the poor bastard in the white hat. Are you sure you're prepared for what lies ahead? What are you gonna tell your wife? Suffice it to say, be sure to have a full bottle of Zap-A-Gap handy to protect your most vulnerable orifice. And speaking of the poor bastard in the white hat...what do you plan to float with now Cricket?
  23. If I were to stray to the dark side, it'd be with a Jackson Coosa, hands down...if you can find one.
