  1. A couple of my buds were there yesterday and had double limits of white bass and crappie. They said they were right on the bank.
  2. If you check around you may find a few boats which have never been sold but have been on the lot for a couple of years. Many times they can be bought at the dealer's cost.
  3. If you get a light weight boat like the one in the pic and can get a tilt trailer, you can launch in a foot or so of water. We used to do it all the time when we owned Richline boats. That Lund may have seemed pricy but it is the best in the world so it probably should be a little more than the run of the mill boats.
  4. Hunter, you gots to understand those Stone Co. red necks. They feel that they have the right to go anywhere at any time and do anything they want to do. They have all the deer trained to stay away from the roads at night.
  5. Choosing a good one can be a chore. I personally, like to have 480X480 pixels. That gives a pretty good image. I am not sure about too many prices. I run a Lowrance X125 on the tmotor. It sells for around $300
  6. The white bass migration starts as early as January on some of our lakes depending on water temps and flow rates. When they begin to spawn depends on who is doing the talking. Some say as early as 45° and some say 54°. I have been fishing on a couple of area lakes and am finding about 1/2 of the females to be at least partially spawned out. When the spawn is over the fish will start migrating back down stream. Lots of them won't go very far as long as there is a sizeable shad population. You can look for them to hold close to channels and in the mouths of coves. They do a lot of suspending. If it is windy they will follow the food chain to banks and points. If you have good electronics, look for large schools of shad and the whites won't be far away.
  7. Normally when they move up to spawn they won't bite will on the spawning shoal (it is like hamburgers and sex, one at a time). If you move down stream, you should be able to get them on the way to the spawning shoal.

    Walleye !

Have the big whites moved up yet? All I have heard of is dinks.
  9. THAUS, are you doing any fishin' these days?
  10. Dingy but not muddy yesterday, whites were scattered and about 1/2 spawned out, crappie were around the stick ups but not bedding yet. We got double limits of both with some to spare. Good luck.
  11. Some of the guys in Spfd. MO know their stuff and some only partly. George at Marine Repair knows Lowrance back and forward.
  12. Before you buy I recommend that you take a look at 2 other brands: GIII and Xpress. I have friends with both and they are not first time boat owners and both are greatly satisfied. I haven't riddent in the GIII but it is third generation boat building now owned by Yamaha. I have ridden in the Xpress lots of times. It is the nearest to a fiberglass ride on the market.
  13. Tracker boats are not so bad in and of themselves. They are set up for the firstime fisherman in general. That means cheapest electronics, smallest power trolling motor and an outboard about 1/2 of what is recommended. If you price a Tracker, price it with the upgrades and go look at other alums. in the same category and you will find little price difference. You mentioned Sun Tracker, Voyager in Lebanon, Mo make a comparable boat which generally sells for less.
  14. "Put in at Blunk about 12:30. Water clarity about 10 inches. Headed up to McCords and beached the boat. " Did you put in at Blunk's or McCord Bend. I don't see how you could put in at Blunk's and go up to McCord since it is down stream from Rolly Blunk's. Phil the goggle-eye have no stream restrictions and a limit of 15. http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?a...ost&id=1135
  15. Go to McCall bridge and float down to Blunks.

  17. From this discussion, I'm starting to think Asher Cane Bottom and Walnut Springs are one and the same? I put my boat in there a couple of times a few years ago, when there was no concrete ramp and it was just a gravel beach. I quit doing that when a fellow came down and told me it was a private access for the owners of houses in that neighborhood only.
  18. I was there when it was owned by Asher's and they had cane all along the river bottom. The old man used to have a coffee can for you to put a dollar in before you drove across his farm to fish.
  19. It is a Corps ramp there at Walnut Springs (formerly Asher's Cane Bottom). The public can use it just like the one at Pebble Beach but with any size motor at all it is no problem to make the run from Bridgeport or Flat Creek up to Asher's and there are a lot of good spots between them. There are also launching places at McCord's Bend and Rolly Blunk's. Both will put you closer to the spawning grounds which are normally from Taylor's Shoal on up to ????.
  20. I wasn't quite as far as Taylor Bridge yesterday. I fished in the storms and had a fair day on whites (22). They had moved on me and the crappie had moved in (55). I also picked up some walleye. Most of the fish came on plastics.
  21. Jerk baits and Rooster Tails are the preferred lure, Fletcher said. Is that JD? I didn't know he was still alive.
  22. I find it that way quite a bit. But I am also slow.
  23. A 19' boat with a 90 is doing pretty good. I know of an 18' with a 115 which could barely maintain 50 mph. If you are running an aluminum prop, you might get a bit more out of steel but the new alums. are pretty good.
  24. Yes, sad as it is upper Bull Shoals has suffered some kind of drastic fish kill. Where there were literally thousands of fish a few years ago there are less than dozens now. Some of us may not see the return in our lifetimes.
