It could be very good for jerk baits when you get there. If I didn't want to spend a lot of time in mfg. malls and shows I would for sure bring the boat.
I'd pick up a extra card and take pics of everything until I got used to its features. It won't be long till you will be posting pics in all the forums here.
There are lots of good units out there. Bass Pro, Marine Repair Center in Springfield, the shop I think it is called Tackle box or something like that in Nixa Any of those should be able to fix you up. Just get a 3 bank charger of 10 or 15 amps and you should be fine.
I have run a lot of different batteries and believe that brand is not as important as maintainance. I just got rid of batteries which were close to 5 years old and still going strong, but after that much time I was beginning to wonder if they would let me down sometime soon.
What I do is get deep cycle batteries with the most reserve amps that I can get (preferably 200). Never let the water get low and never let them set for more than one day after use before recharging. I always get them at a marine shop of some kind instead of a Wally World or auto parts store. If you are close to Spfld. George at Marine Repair Center or Rick at Fin and Feather should be able to fix you up.
You can go to Back Country Outfitters in the Fremont center in Springfield. The guys there have always been very helpful and will have the components which you will need.
You can also go to Bass Pro Shop in Springfield to the fly shop and get help.
BCO will probably be more able to give 1 on 1 than a busy place like BPS.
Thanks for the reply.
The swimmin' minnow has been a Ozarks bait for a long time. There are lots around here but not the color I need.

It shouldn't change much since they didn't get much snow.
Another stream which has trout and runs into Crane Creek is Spring Creek. It can be accessed in down town Hurley.
Sorry about that. I am halfway between Table Rock and Stockton. I noticed that several rural schools are still out which leads me to believe that there is still a lot of ice out there and may be a week from very many clean ramps and lots.
I don't know who owns them now, but I assume the quality hasn't changed. When Genmar owned them they came with a lifetime hull warranty. In my book Lund is one notch above all other aluminums.
That is the first I have heard of any surfacing in a long time. I have been fishing off and on all summer at Stockton and haven't seen any.
I did hear of a few guys catching some whites while bass fishing in the river above Birch's Branch about a week ago. It should be about time for them to be on the windy banks.
Up until 2003 I caught lots of white bass on upper BS. In 03 I caught a few. In 04 I caught less. In 05 I didn't go. In 06 I didn't go. I haven't heard any good news about whites in that area for 4 years now. I hope that they make a comeback.
If you know what you are doing and at what you are looking, you can get some really good buys. A couple of my friends live close and go there nearly every day to look for bargains. I buy quite a bit of clothes and shoes on sale there but never rods and reels.
