  1. Hey Another great day. Glad you got off by 2:00Stockton dodged some nasty weather a little later. Tried to post pictures.
  2. Congrats!!! Day to remember.
  3. Better luck with the teal hunt.
  4. Fished the same time and area as yesterday and NADA unless you count bulegill. My buddy was using a purple blade and getting the most bites the day before. At 6:00 PM The entire surface of the lake was covered with bait fish from Edge Island to the dam. Nothing chasing them. We should have some fat fish next spring.
  5. 15-20 on the points.
  6. Put in at Crabtree 3:00 pm. Had 2 keeper walley. 3 shorts and of course lost the big one at the boat. Bottom bouncing with crawlers all with in site of dam. And the DRUM!
  7. Good to hear your wife is catching crappie AGAIN
  8. STRAW HAT: I need a conversion for feet to meters. It would also be great to have a more current report. The numbers for O2 are concerning. As far as the'Bite' The deeper thermoclines we have seen lateley would seem to give the angler a bigger area to cover and might explain the "SLOW" bite. As well as the pickup sized schools of baitfish. ????
  9. PackerSooner: Were you able to determine the level of the thermocline? Down by the dam it appeared to40-45 feet deep last week. I spent 8 hours last Thursday and Friday and was only able to catch ONE keeper walleye and a few short different variety both trolling and bottom bouncing.
  10. The best way to prevent line twist is to throw the guy in the back of the boat who persists in fouling everyone elses line OUT OF THE BOAT! My guiding career was short.
  11. 10# mono Bass Pro or Stren. Have you tried taking the lure and any snaps off and running the line out to get the twists out? run it.faster than you would troll. Let me know how the Spiderwire works.
  12. The lady with the big bass had a large plastic worm hanging out ???? Probably caught close to the brush. We have been trolling Flickershads in the Crabtree area the last couple of days. U can't catch fish on the graph, but they haven;t been along the bluffs, but suspended in 30+- in the coves.
  13. For what its worth there are a lot of bait balls the size of pickup trucks, that may be why the fish are so hard to come by. Fished the last couple of days around Crabtree and the fish were not where they normally are at least on the graph. It seems like they and the bait balls are suspended toward the backs of coves,at least that is where I have found the few I have caught. hope this helps. HAVE A HAPPY and SAFE 4TH!!!
  14. Nice Fish Congrats! Great when a plan comes together. Let us know if you boiled the drum fillets and served them over ice, if they tasted like shrimp.??? We were fishing same area and caught several drum. Be SAFE over the 4th
  15. I normally follow the shoreline and try to keep the crankbait just off the bottom as ketchup suggested. The last Three trips I have found them right up the gut toward the back of coves. My boat trolls at 2.5 mph +or- depending on the wind. PM me we share a common location.
  16. Just for levity, how are these guys on catxch and release????
  17. Last Thursday we had a slow morning, with rain approaching we stayed near ramp and trolled fickershads right up the gut in the back of Hartley. We had 6 quality bass and walleye n 10 minutes. Then it thundered
  18. On the lake today, may have learned something shortly before the thunderstrorm. I have always tried to troll along banks that were 3-5 feet deeper than the flickershads would run that and the infamous Ned rig haven't worked the last couple of days. Just to stay near the ramp, I started trolling up the gut of the cove, Three keeper bass a couple of slightly short walleye and a crappie all before the rain came.
  19. RPS: Great report! Reminds me of late dear friend from HI that used to target walleye. Nice fish
  20. NITRO.GREAT FISH---CONGRATS!!!
  21. This discussion is going to hell in a heartbeat.
  22. For what it's worth, the Cedar County Sheriff was patroling Crabtree Cove Saturday. Watch each others back. Straw Hat I have heard Dade County only has ONE patroling deputy. Good Luck!
  23. Agressor: Glad you are OK. You probably need to spell God with a capital G. I hate crime and the criminals. We sould not have to put up with their crap!! As for future fishing I have boat and will fish, Kids allowed if you provide life jackets. Give me a PM if I can help. Ron
  24. Great! Great! Way to go!
  25. YEP BEEN THERE HALF THROTTLE BIG WAKE .but don't think it was U. So sad my bad. Better week ahead!!!
