  1. Reel sold, thanks for looking
  2. I'm selling a used TD Advantage 153 HSTA. The reel is used, with minor boat rash. This reel was super tuned by Daiwa and is one of the smoothest reels I've ever used. It is currently spooled with 10# P-Line CX Premium. I would like to get $80 shipped for it, but would be open to offers for purchase or trade. I took a few snaps of it this morning in my poorly lit garage and here they are. Let me know if you have any questions. Here is a link to a review of these reels. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdaiwaadvantage153hsta.html
  3. The Ascend boats are affordable, as are Perception Sport. Why do you need to stand in a yak or canoe? The Perception Pescador boats are the same hull as the older Wilderness Systems Tarpons.
  4. Used yaks and canoes are less than two mid grade casting setups. You have no reason to not own a paddle craft.
  5. How long a rod do you prefer for wade fishing in your typical Ozark creeks and why?
  6. It came from Jerry, so take it with a grain of salt. With that said, I understand the issues that can come with zebra mussels, but one possible benefit that I have seen where they are present is cleaner water. We have zebras in various lakes in Kansas and I have seen water quality improve, but the infestations aren't without consequence.
  7. Nice fish, but don't break his jaw please. That is detrimental to that fish and the others you hold like that. On larger fish, two hands is the way to go.

    Disgusting, just dis...delicious I mean.
  9. Ham, here is hoping for an ache in your arm so severe, only a few good brews can quell the pain!
  10. Nice video! What size line/leader are you tossing?
  11. Care to forward this data Chief? I'd appreciate it.
  12. Ham, I can sympathize with fishing in pain. My left labrum is torn and has been for over a year now. I can't take time off work, or off of fishing, so I cope. I've started going with more spinning tackle since setting the hook with a caster in my left hand is a bit tender. Do we continue to fish because we lack the self-preservation sense not to, or is it because of the self-preservation sense that we must carry on?
  13. IMO, that is a Shadow bass, like the one in my avatar. Mine was caught in the same system as that one, but a different River. The Ozark streams of the middle Neosho system seems to have some Shadows in it, contrary to everything to everything I have seen.
  14. Interesting design. I like how the face is tapered in lieu of a plastic bill. What size trebles do you routinely run on it? That conjures memories of old baits that I must have assumed were topwaters due to their lack of a bill. How does it do around stumps and rocks?
  15. Have you posted a picture of your bait Al? I'd be fascinated to see it since it is sans bill.
  16. For roundbill, I was grouping everything else together that does not have a squarebill. Are your preferences for lakes or streams or both?
  17. Which do you choose and why, for everyday fishing, be it a lake/pond from shore, wading a creek, floating or fishing from a glitter machine?
  18. Just a heads up, using live or dead bait for trout is highly frowned upon here and it could be highly illegal as well.
  19. I like to throw anything from 3/16oz to 5/8oz. My preferences are shallow running crankbaits, mid depth cranks, spinnerbaits and jigs. I'm going to spend time next year focusing on topwater fishing as well.
  20. Living in Kansas and not being a Missouri resident, my opinion is limited to selfish enjoyment of natural resources the state of Kansas can't or won't provide. MDC is in a small amount of danger with the powers that be wanting access to the MDC funds, but I think common sense will win out.
  21. Well done, I am impressed.
  22. Ham, the Spro McStick isn't a knockoff. They are their own baits, quality ones at that. You mention the Vision 95, there is one, likely Japanese market predominantly.
  23. The lighting in the room explains the difference. The STX is a rip off if you weren't aware of that. The hardware on them is very, very cheap and while they are cheaper, after you upgrade your hooks and split rings, you could have bought a 110. I have three X-80 Trick Darters and their action is crazy. The colors I bought were GP Pro Blue II, French Pearl OB and Megabass Sexy Shad. The PB II accounts for my PB spot, 17". I understand being shocked that baits can cost $25 each, I was, but these are purchases that should last long enough to pay for themselves.
  24. Is that color Elegy Bone?
  25. The dollars that are spent on trout tags not only support management for the fisheries that offer a decent experience, but also for the bucket brigades in the Lou and KC. Which needs more attention? Does James A Reed in KC need trout in it or would those trout be better served in the Niangua or Meramec? The Meramec trout numbers have been abysmal, but they drive over it to dump the fish in St Louis. I don't care if you like urban fisheries, they're not my thing either, but you have to understand that they could spark a love for trout fishing, driving a guy to spend his weekends in the Ozarks and eventually find the champion of the Ozarks, the smallmouth bass.
