  1. Nice fish boys. Looks like a good day.
  2. Thanks Andy. That is very similar to the Albright
  3. Interesting discussion fellas. A triple surgeon works well for attaching a fluorocarbon leader to braid? If so, that is good news. It is the only knot you have mentioned that I know how to tie.
  4. I didn't see much, if any, difference. Have you thrown it in gin clear water yet? If so, how'd that go?
  5. I am looking into a small solo craft this winter and would love to fish with some folks around here.

Thanks Ronnie and QB. Yeah, it was a good spot, but the fish cooperated. I have fished where he took you and even then, we had to walk to catch a 6" brownie.
  7. Might be on the winter overhaul list then...thanks everyone.
  8. Do bass seem to care, in your opinion, if you are using braid tied direct in clear water? Do you see your catch rate go down at all? I am wondering since using a rod with braid on it in relatively clear water this weekend and being amazed at the sensitivity.

Here's my PB Smallmouth, 15.25" Neosho caught yesterday in SWMO.
  10. I can see that. Thanks wrench.
  11. I know spotted bass are running roughshod over native brownies in the east, and I was wondering if there was going to be a spotted bass massacre planned for the spring. Everyone keep their twelve, fry the rat b*stards up, drink some brewkis. I ask because I noticed in a lot of reports that they have yellow grubs in the meat. Is there anyway to rid the flesh of them while cleaning?
  12. I will have to grab some 3" grubs then...I looked at my stash and it isn't as good as I thought. Spring crappie on lakes did me in.
  13. What do you use, if anything? I haven't ever used a trailer in creeks, and only rarely in still water. I throw Booyah's Pond Magic sb in white and chartreuse, along with the Booyah Blade 1/4oz in white and white/chartreuse. I think I have some 2" grubs in white as well as chartreuse, but for the larger baits I wonder if a 3" wouldn't be better. Thanks guys.
  14. Indian has some pretty water around 435 and Holmes. Blue River is a decent drive upstream of the confluence with Indian, since below Indian, the sewage plant pollutes it quite badly.
  15. No. For those who don't have insurance due to the high costs, getting sick or hurt does, in fact, bankrupt people. The American healthcare system is broken beyond repair and if you don't see that, turn off the Tea Party radio stations, and research the differences between GOP rhetoric on the matter regarding the British NHS or the Canadian system and the facts. If you citizens can't get healthcare for fear of cost, your nation suffers and ends up as unhealthy as this one is.
  16. I enjoy that river syatem , but am craftless at the moment. We will have to get together and fish it this spring.
  17. It was intended to be the centerpiece, not an eventual end point. How is it that we are the only first world nation where people go bankrupt and lose everything from $300 aspirin? A major part of this bill is the reining in of costs and dictating that 80% of premiums go to care, NOT CEO bonuses.
  18. Here's one for you. We, the Democrats, took the Single Payer system out of the ACA to receive the needed votes. If anyone can give me a real reason, not some party line nonsensical bullspit reason why we are the ONLY. civilized nation without a national health system, you win a cookie.
  19. With all our rain...creeking is out of the question.
  20. I didn't mean immediately. I meant after the pattern breaks.
  21. Not that far. I am thinking in the Osceola area there is a decent bass creek. Perhaps as far down as the James...
  22. I love the drive across 50. I m considering driving to Richland as well, but may just head down 13 and see what I can find...Mic, holler when you will be back this way.
  23. With Lyme, they gave me 30 days of antibiotics. Now I spray the hell out of any exposed skin below the waist before venturing too far.
  24. If you think Missouri has bad access, check out Kansas. It is as you mentioned. Access is illegal unless with landowner permission or at a state or county maintained park/access. Also, to float, you must obtain permission from every landowner in the instance that you must touch gravel or portage. The surface is public, but the gravel, banks and even trees in the water are private. I love the access laws in Missouri and enjoy fishing there every chance I get. With this said, aren't those strands of wire illegal? A pair of Knipex cutters would make quick work of them if they are illegal.
