  1. Good point OB. I like your thinking on the matter of cutting the bass, bluegill and catfish stocking program for private waters. That is definitely a place where they are competing and in fact undercutting the private hatcheries that do the same darn thing.
  2. Wherever you fish on the PDT, put it in this forum
  3. I can tolerate Maddow far more than anyone on Fox News...

    Border War

    KU sucks.
  5. Holy hell that is a large bass!
  6. x2 and I know I have contributed to the delinquency of this thread.
  7. Eric, I see your point of view, but I cannot say that I prefer to catch trout over a native species. Granted, I may go trout fishing, but I prefer our natives in streams.
  8. If they continue to stock below Taney, they could leave SOH open and have THAT hatchery, and that hatchery alone function as the lifeblood of Taney. That is it. Eric, you know I wasn't talking about Taney. I understand the COE screwed up (IMO) by building coldwater fisheries in a warmwater area. Trout are the only option for upper Taney, but on the Niangua, NFOW, Current, Eleven Point, Roaring River, etc. we could have more miles of smallmouth habitat, some of it marginal, yes, but more habitat nonetheless.
  9. Pushed through? He caved to everything the right wanted done. If he was to be proud of that bill, he should have stuck to his guns on getting done what he wanted to get done. Funny how votes only matter when things get passed through that are not in line with right wing beliefs. Spin is easy to recognize. Turn off the Fox News and the nutjob O'Reilly.
  10. Trout are only there to tide us over in the winter until smallmouth flows warm back up. They serve a financial purpose, but that is about it. The idea of getting hundreds of miles of smallmouth habitat back makes me giddy.
  11. OTF, I have to say that I agree with your statement wholeheartedly. I would not sign it either.
  12. You mention terminology, but nothing is as disrespectful as the right calling the healthcare bill Obamacare. What's good for one must be good for the other, no? Anyway, enough politicking. This Cauthorn d-bag needs to get out of office immediately. I am not a resident of Missouri right now, but the way I see it, I spend more of my recreation dollars in Missouri than Kansas, so I have an axe to grind in this matter. MDC is vital to both sustaining and improving the sporting experience in Missouri.
  13. Happy birthday! Enjoy the day and catch a fish!
  14. I can tell you what's in there without using a rod or reel. I would be up for wading into the stream lower, below the lakes and fishing it.
  15. The Little Blue might be a bit tight for much kayaking. It is a small stream at best and wading is, IMO, the best means to fish it.
  16. Wader, Longview dumps to the north. Big Creek would be on this side of a little ridge between JAR and Longview. It might come through a pond and run through JAR. Neat to know anyway. Thanks for your work.
  17. Ollie, too far to drive tomorrow man. I wish I had known about this before today, I would have tried to drag my son down there.
  18. I fished Plover Lake today out at JAR. I caught a 13" largemouth bass and nothing else. Next time I can get over to the Missouri side, I am going to try to hit Big Creek as well as Indian Creek at State Line, just before it dumps into the Blue.
  19. I HATE mine. I peeled it off and folded it over, but it looks like my four year old did it. There are creases and wrinkles all over the darn thing.
  20. Jason, I caught my personal best fish at the Clinton outlet and look forward to spending some time down there this year whenever I can.
  21. Can't do it Saturday, it's our first anniversary. That would get my manhood cut off and ran through the garbage disposal.
  22. You are right TF. I think I will check it out when it warms a bit.
  23. Wader, where is Big Creek? I am curious as I have waded down below the dam at Longview to where another creek comes in. That creek was shallow, flat, nondescript and devoid of life in my experience.
  24. I should take mine out of the desk drawer in the garage and hang them back up, but darn it, I am lazy.
