  1. Now saying out for regular season.
  2. Just saw out for season.
  3. Florida lost their QB earlier this year for the season, Georgia had most of their starting RB's and WR's out, so no excuses, at least we have a guy we thought might be the starter anyway. That being said, it sucks!
  4. Dally's can hook u up.
  5. I bet they eat stripers too, kill em' all (if legal).
  6. I read an article saying if we don't raise debt ceiling we can A. Slash discresionary spending (including defense) by 33% B. Cut mandatory spending (such as social security) by 16% a month C. Raise taxes by 12% a month or a combination of the three I'm all for it, but we'll never get agreement on which to do. I say let each party pick one not to do, and let the last one standing be the solution.
  7. Teal are swarming the river today, may have to start moving seasons back as the cool weather seems to come later each year.
  8. Maybe you guys don't see it first hand because you live in more well to do areas, but on literally a weekly basis I talk to people that say they had to take their kid to the emergency room again for simple medical problems. This absolutely drives me nuts, and this gets passed on from generation to generation with no reason for it to ever change. I know I won't change your mind if you are against it, and you won't change my mind. Luckily for now I'm on the side of the law, and I hope that the Obama administration (whom I'm ready to be out of office, because they are doing a terrible job) doesn't cave on this one.
  9. I don't know where the $695 will go (and I sure won't assume it is going where it should) but this money hopefully will be going to something related to paying for health care. With everyone paying their bills (or insurance companies) this does fund the aging and their healthcare, and the hope is with things finally being paid for that it might drive costs down and save the government money that they are already spending through medicare and Medicaid. I've said it many times, this won't be perfect to start with, but give it a chance and tweak it as we see where the improvements need to be made. I know you hate this because you look at it as being forced on you by the government (and I think government HAS to be downsized), but how can you possibly see this as being worse than the current system of letting those of us who pay our bills being forced to pay the bills of the millions who go to the ER for a fever? The only way I see anyone being against this is if they currently have no insurance, and are happy with others paying their bill if god forbid they have a catastrophic medical condition or accident.
  10. By 2016 that number rises to $695 or 2.5% of taxable income (whichever is greater), so at this point why not get covered. I like how it eases people in instead of being a complete jolt to our systems. This easing in is why it will take a few years to see the full effect. I think people should be forced to get health insurance before they pay their cable bill or cell phone bill (chances are these add up to more than their health care insurance would be for the year). If you choose not to be insured you better not have a darn cell phone, or satellite tv and radio.
  11. The insurance companies are getting all this new business from younger people that would have taken their chances before, and most likely won't use the insurance until they age. The premiums from those that won't use the insurance until later in life will pay for the ones that have accidents or need attention earlier in life. The demand it creates (which will mostly be preventative) will all be paid for (small costs), and should lead to less costly procedures for those later in life. The costly procedures shouldn't change in the short term as those are mostly life saving ones that are now being done in some cases for free.
  12. Well put Scott, I think the main difference in the thinking about ACA is some think it will be a burden on the government, and some think it will save the government money in the long run and lower health care costs that we all agree are inflated. My thoughts on this are that it encourages personal responsibility (a conservative thought), unlike welfare and other govt. handouts that really don't have an endgame and which I think need to be adjusted to reward those that dig their way out.
  13. Don't Jinx us! The way Franklin plays we are one play away from Mauk, then we hit the reset button.
  14. Lets take a coronary bypass for example which AMA says average $117,000. Lets round down to $100,000 for ease of math. Lets just assume the insurance company pays 80 percent, and you are stuck with the remaining 20. Before you would just pay the hospital a few bucks a month to keep them off your back because you are "trying" to pay your bill. Now the hospital gets their 80 grand, and you have the remaining 20 grand left to pay which you still can't do. You still slug along and slowly pay down the bill (just like you would have before) big difference is that the hospital has gotten paid the majority of the bill for services rendered whereas before they only get your $50 bucks a month. Multiply this by all of the people that have taken advantage of the system for years not paying their bills, and all of the sudden the hospitals are at least getting 80% (where before they got basically nothing), hospitals bottom lines improve drastically, health costs go down, insurance rates go down because they are only allowed so much profit, Boehner marries Obama in a gay marriage ceremony, and the Cubs win the world series.
  15. I would love to see it happen, but it's too big a problem for that, maybe if states come up with their own plan that includes everyone they can opt out of federal program. At least we agree there's a big problem.
  16. The problem is many won't and we end up paying there bills, that's why it has to be required, just like car insurance.
  17. EXACTLY, and now for the first time in this bums life, he will have to take responsibility for his own healthcare bills. He either chooses to now get health insurance, or he pays the government a tax which enables it to pay his bills, which it had peviously been doing for free. Glad you are finally seeing the light.
  18. Always too many praying for the opposite, offsets each other, or gets confusing for the big guy. I've been praying for the Royals since I was 11, think I'll try islam next.
  19. I want to give it a chance, and believe me if my insurance sky rockets, or we find out it is costing us way too much as a nation I will be the first to say it must go. Right now I see the system of the ER being the primary physician for much of my community costing the tax payer way to much to be sustainable. Point taken!
  20. Karma will have you coming back as an poor inner city girl in the worst school district in the US, I just hope you find this forum and my old bones are still here to tell you to quit complaining.
  21. No, of couse they aren't entitled to the best, I assume that means travelling shore to shore getting the latest greatest treatments, which takes money to get there and that eliminates most of the poor. The real question is do they deserve the common treatments at their local hospitals. I won't pretend to know enough about chemo, or HIV treatments, but I sure would hate to tell someone that they have a treatable disease, but since your company went bankrupt and you have no money or credit I can't save you. Do we currently treat cancer or other terminal diseases for people not on medcaid that can't pay for the treatment? If so, the taxpayer pays for it, but under ACA, this person would hopefully have some sort of insurance. It will take lots of tweaking, and several years, but eventually I really think obamacare will help our healhcare system. Then the dems will call it obamacare, and the GOP will call it the ACA. I have a dream!
  22. Polls mean nothing right now, but having two ranked SEC teams playing each other will help ratings and make everyone more money, right? That's why I think they are ranked, but the offense sure has me excited.
