  1. I'll be there in spirit! Think of me all couped up in the station while you guys are enjoying some fine dining and fishing. John
  2. Nice fish! Wish I had been able to make it down for the day. But, alas, the chores at home called first! John
  3. Hey JD! Glad to see ya on the forum. John
  4. Sent you a couple of my favorites. John
  5. Wishing all a very Merry CHRISTmas and an even better New Year! Tight Lines to all and for those ol' squids . . . May you have fair seas and following winds! John
  6. Was down on Friday, saw you fishing Tim, but was in a hurry to catch up with the wife for a lunch break. I ended up with six. The smallest was a 19" rainbow and the largest was a 24" bow that weighed in at 4.25 pounds. Had a great day! Lots of fish and a very good flow. Caught mine on a #8 purple wooly. John
  7. Tied mine tonight and they'll go out in the mail tomorrow. Sorry for the delay in getting them out. Jason, there's a few extra for your efforts in hosting this swap. Enjoy! John
  8. And don't forget the "special coffee!"
  9. Pretty amazing what they will do. John
  10. Erie is doing okay. We didn't get hit near as bad as the southern areas. My mom lives in Baxter Springs and has been without power since yesterday afternoon. Not sure when they expect it back on. It appears that the farther north you go the ice stayed on the roads but the southern areas had more ice in the trees and on power lines. John
  11. My step dad passed away on December 5th after a short illness. The onset was sudden and unexpected but in the last days the doctor's helped prepare my mom for what was coming. She has done remarkably well and is holding up very nicely. However, we have had to come back home and my stepbrother is leaving in a week so mom will be all alone in the house. I suspect that is when reality will set in. I'm asking that you keep my mom in your prayers and ask the Lord to help her through this very difficulty time. Thank you all John Jackson
  12. When are you looking at putting this into motion? Depending on the date If I can, I sure will be there. John
  13. I'm working the 8th, but could help with some labor when the time comes if it's after that. I'll watch this post for updates. John
  14. Got a late start (didn't get out of work til 9:00 a.m.) but headed that way. Met up with Marty (Catman) and spent the day fishing up around the park store. It was a difficult day of fishing, but I was able to coax three to hand. One went about 2 lbs, the rest were average stockers. Marty also got a few to hand. Now Tim, was a different story. I don't know how many he landed but let's just say every time I looked his way, the rod was bent! There a some nice fish swimming around in the pools, especially the third pool downstream from the bridge by the park store. A lot of very nice size fish, just couldn't convince them they wanted what I had. I'll be back for sure. For me, I tried a ruby midge, a crackleback, a ginger bugger and a small olive pine squirrel. Got lots of looks, but as I said earlier, very few takers. Still a great day to be out. Nice talking with ya Marty, hopefully we can meet up again. Bill - got your PM, I'll give ya call and we can swap stories over some coffee. John
  15. You better believe I'll contact you. That "special" coffee helps keep the chill off. John
  16. Unfortunately duty calls this year and I'll be working. Sorry I have to miss this one. Have a good time and eat lots of food for me. Also, catch a few fish if you have too. John
  17. And we're suppose to look up to these people?
  18. Glad to hear that things are looking up a bit. As you and your wife know the body is a finally tuned machine and one little glich can cause a lot of problems. The gallbladder has a function and if it isn't working all kinds of thinks can go haywire. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers and pray for an end to your daughters problems. John
  19. Sounds good Bill. I actually live in Erie, but I work for Crawford County EMS. I run out of station 2 (the one by Twisters). I'll PM you my cell phone, some coffee and stories sound good to me. I actually like Taney better myself, but RR is still a good spot during the C&R season. John
  20. I'll be driving a Blue Jeep Liberty and will probably start up around the hatchery and work my way down. The afternoon will most likely find me in the fly zone. I'll have on an orange OAF hat. Hope to see ya there. John
  21. Will probably head out after I get off work Monday morning. I'll leave Pittsburg around 8:00 a.m. (barring any unforeseen early morning emergencies) if anyone is interested in hooking up for a day of fishing. John
  22. I'm with RC - if someone plans a trip; post the date and we all can see about meeting up. My schedule's a bit full with the holidays, but a quick day trip is not out of the question. John
  23. I'm also wanting to make a trip, just no dates yet. It'd be great to fish with you guys again so if you set a date let me know and I'll see what works out. John
  24. Wow, sounds like a great day. Sorry I had to miss it. Dad's doing much better as of yesterday. They are talking about taking him out of CCU today and putting him back on the regular floor. If he continues to improve they are talking home around the end of the week. John
