  1. Any ideas about this weekend? I know it's hard to predict anyway, but the wife and I were thinking of making a trip down that way on Sat and Sun. John

  8. Let us know how it turns out. I'm thinking of heading down Monday night for some fishin. Hope the generation has slowed down by then. John
  9. Thanks Phil! I couldn't remember the name of the pliers. I knew it was lead something or other. I should have asked ya when I was in the store the other day. That's the old age sneaking out. I still have the reel set up from Naknek and was wanting to try it when I was down and they were generating. Up till last month I had the set-up from Alaska on there, but lost it on the White when we were down there fishing. I definately want a set of the pliers and lead. I'll stop in on my next trip down. Hopefully next week. I'll call ya when I know for sure. Thanks again Phil. John
  10. Was a great method! I've been looking for the weight system they used but have had no luck. Do you have them or can you get them. Thanks - John
  11. I assume we're talking about a method similar to what we used on the Naknek? John
  12. Phillip, EXCELLENT news about the wife! God is good! Hopefully next time we can spend some more time on the water together and swap some stories. Tight lines buddy . . . John
  13. Looks like a good alternative. I think I may have to try one out, especially with what Tim's saying about them. It's nice to have some first hand reports. John
  14. Got to the water about 1:30 p.m., of course they were generating but it was only 1 unit. As we headed to the water they blew the horn with 2 units on now. We fished until almost 7:30 p.m. and was able to fool two bows. We fished from up around outlet 1 down to outlet 3 where ever we could find some fishable water. When they blew the horn for 3 units we decided to take a break and get some supper. After supper they had dropped back to 1 unit. We fished below outlet 2 for a bit and fooled one with a hare's ear. We then headed up to the flats below outlet 1 where we got into some nice browns. I ended up with three more browns with the biggest being just shy of 19 inches. Leonard can tell you about his experience but I believe he ended up with 8 browns to his name. All of the browns came on an olive PMS. The bows during the day come on scuds and hare's ear. Jake - nice seeing you again. Your woodworking and paintings are awesome. I'll have to tell the wife to put these on my Christmas list. Duane, Dave and Zander - nice meeting you guys. It's always good to put a face with the names. Tight Lines - John
