As Jim said sometimes just bring on the water is enough for me. The fish would have been nice. There is always next time Duane just thankful for the time you took out for us..it was nice meeting all you guys.

Thanks Phil and his staff for the enjoyable time at your resort. checked in on sunday around noon and waiting for a friend KCRiverRat to show up he arrived about 3 or so. got him settled in he brought his father in laws boat a tracker perfecet for this tailwater. launced it and went for a ride and to do some fishing it was cold and windy. started ip by the narrows and just drifted jigs that Darin set me up with at the Fly shop. after a few hours nothing not even a nibble, of courrse the wind was blowing so hard to tell . Monday got up early and fished down by the fish house thats where everybody said to go because it was on fire threw everthing i had at them and still nothing this went on all day. tried again at the narrows and nothing. starting to wonder what i was dong wrong KC ended up hooking up with 2 rainbows and me 0. Duane called on tuesday evening and asked how i was doing. i responded terrible he showedd up at the landing and i bought some trout magnets. went out wensday floated those trout magnets and adjusted depth with wiegthed floaat and still not able to catch anything all day. So duane called again sayed that he was at the fish house that i should meet him and do some fishing, so i did he already had one landed and i threw out and the a few casts later got my first fish of the trip woohoo. we stayed an little while longer and the fishing slowed once again. Thanks Duane for taking the time and help me out. wensday same result fishing slowed. Ended up fishing from dock with Sac River Jim and catching a few fish with him and just enjoying the company of Jim and KC. I have a Love hate relationship with this lake. I love that is why i keep coming back trying to figure it out but also hate it cause i am never productive . Here is the reoport: It started off at a chilly 45 launced at Eagle Rock and headed up to Viney creek at a idles pace due to wife and kids cold.. Just looking and enjoying the day. Clouds started breaking up and sun came out and what a beautiful afternoon we had. Saw one nest but as we approached it eagles flew off.. Continued on to Viney not seeing ay eagles. dis seealot of high flyong birds could not determine if they were eagles or not.. saw a couple of Pintails ( i believe ) need some identification help on those. Then as we were heading back to Eagle Rock my wife spotted eagle across from RR arm we sat and watched and floated by just a wonderfu; day to be out on the water only saw 2 boats the entire time..Pics to follow

Quillback was that you on the eagle rock ramp around 3 pm with 3 guys in your boat leaving the same time I was.

Since the nice weather approaching was thinking about heading down on Sunday for a boat ride and looking for some Eagles. Has any body spotted any numbers while out and about?

The bass at the end of article from Dixon lake is one of my home town lakes used to fish a lot in Escondido California. The fish is named Dottie that mike has caught and released several times before becoming a record largemouth and then released by mike. Then is found dead some time later belly up by another angler and he brought it to the lake ranger and mike was called in to identify Dottiethat mike caught so many times

I enjoyed reading everybodys adventures as well. Next season is going to be high on my list to start earlier and actually hunt with my son instead of letting him have all the fun. Chief and Corndawg will be there also.

I am looking for someone to mount my sons first gadwell that he shot this weekend. Does anybody have recommendations and or expierence with a professional that does good work. Thanks for any input

Just want to say Thank you to Ducky and his wife and Chief for taking my son on this trip. He enjoyed it very much. Wish i could of been apart of it. He has a story to tell for the rest of his life. Thanks again !!!

Very nice story and life lessons to be aware of. My father and I have never been to close but do talk. My mom has told our family he is seperating from my her at 76 years old. and 43 years of marriage. He has not said a word to me about it. After reading this i think i am going to talk with him about it just to understand and not feel resentful to him Thanks Phil

Yes what a great time Ian and I had. Good food and new friend was made. Well as far as the dog is concerned he did not last long only about 2 months. He turned out to be crazy dog too unpredicatable for my daughter to be around. he attacked multiple times thankfully no injuries. Justdid not work out. KC had a blast and will do it again anytime with you brother.

KCRIVERRAT You are right on about me being a kid. Chief: No I didnt buy a canoe, My wifes friend had a old town 158 that I could borrow. I think the canoe on the lake was more of a flat bottom. My dad will be back in a few weeks maybe we can set up a day with jon boat. I am ready any time you guys go again except the 29th.
