Yea I’ve heard the saying “The best knot is the one you tie the best” Since switching to fluorocarbon I’ve done an evolution on knots. I’ve learned that some of the traditional mono knots don’t well with fluoro. I’ve also pretty much decided to go back to mono on spinning reels. I actually hate to use spinning reels but some applications require it.

Another thing I heard from Seagaur is that they recommend chapstick for a line lubricant for cinching. Just the word lubricant always gets @fishinwrench quite excited. 😆 ps. Wrench, I’m talking about engine parts

Another factor I’ve been thinking about is the smoothness of the line. These new fancier flourocarbons have a very smooth surface finish, much closer to mono. With that in mind, maybe those knots aren’t actually breaking but just slipping undone because the tag end was too short. I mean there is a difference in how many times you loop certain knots depending if you’re tying fluoro or mono. after all in those videos those lines being tested were not broke but Completely removed from the hook. anyway no matter what the reason I’m going to the double Pittzen. The proof is in the pudding

16 pound test samurai but the line was breaking at the knot so I didn’t figure the guides had anything to do with it

I’ve never had this issue before, but I’ve broken off 3 fish on the hook set lately . Weird part is I’ve hardly ever done this before. I tried Daiwa Samurai line, which I heard was Seagaur Tatsu repackaged for about half the price. I broke off twice on it and thought it might be the line. So I switched back to my old reliable Seagaur InvizX. Broke off on that last week. I re-tie often and the line seems to always break at the knot. Weird. I usually tie a uni knot but tried the double Pitzen and seem to really like that now. Curious what you guys think the strongest knot is for Fluoro and if possibly you guys feel that the quality of line has diminished.

The Shark Tail wasn’t designed for this technique but I was just wondering. The bait in the 5.25 has a very small diameter and is basically a super finesse worm. I wonder if I need to make newer version that is shorter with a thicker body that can be doubled as a fluke type bait. I actually use it like a fluke with great success last year with the bigger model.

STL has always sucked for murders per capita, but I worked in Springfield a couple of months ago for several days and I couldn’t help but notice things and people seem to be on a downhill path….so to speak 😂

What bait and what weight head? I’m thinking I could use more of a hover strolling technique with my Shark tail worm. The tail has great action and twitching would be minimal.
