Another factor I’ve been thinking about is the smoothness of the line. These new fancier flourocarbons have a very smooth surface finish, much closer to mono. With that in mind, maybe those knots aren’t actually breaking but just slipping undone because the tag end was too short. I mean there is a difference in how many times you loop certain knots depending if you’re tying fluoro or mono.
after all in those videos those lines being tested were not broke but Completely removed from the hook.
