  1. I will say one thing, these website creators are some of the biggest meatheads around. Trying to get the guy who created our website to change something was like pulling teeth. Wouldn't return our phone calls after 3 weeks, etc. When he finally called us back, he gave some excuse about his daughters volleyball tournament schedule, then failed to do anything for another two weeks and we finally gave up. Thinking he was just a bad egg, we tried another...same thing. Frustrating........
  2. Good Point, it also affects the FedEx and UPS guys too! Also the Fly shops could sell online
  3. Good to see you on the forum again Eric
  4. The new law that passed this week which forces online companies to charge sales tax is actually good for the brick and mortar guys. Up to this the online guys had a distinct advantage by not charging sales tax
  5. Nice LittleRed, I'm going to get one someday!
  6. Was testing out some lures in the local civic park lake.I walked around the lake to a spot that is difficult to fish bcause the trees grow so close to the edge of the water. I found the remains of someone's charcoal briquette campfire. At least half the coals were still black and because of the recent rains were half submerged in the water. I noticed the entire cove had a ring of iridescence about 4-6" around the periphery. Charcoal must be some bad stuff...especially if its got lighter fluid in it I guess.
  7. Menominee River hog almost 21" an 18"and a 20", my buddy and I with a double Fun fun fun!
  8. You must have been really tanned!!!! LOL
  9. That lake has always been just a pipe dream for me to fish. As a child I passed the Greenville bridge in a light green Galaxy 500 too many times to count on the way to Paragould Arkansas to visit my grandparents. My brother and I looking out the rear windows watching boats fishing and wishing we were there. I've seen that parking lot flood out too many times to count and have heard many stories of busted lower units in the stump fields. I have also fished below the dam, wading once though and caught nothing. Last year I actually pulled over and threw a jig at the base of the bridge pilings and caught a small spotted bass. It's just amazing, and quite depressing actually why some lakes go thru the gradual declining phase and some seem to keep producing year after year like LOZ. This might be a great subject for another thread.
  10. Good ones Corey!
  11. In a very shallow fast riffle, I like the Yozuri Pin's minnow worked very fast. In a little deeper riffle, the pointer 78 is hard to beat. Any deeper than that the pointer 78DD is my favorite. Funny about the cadence thing...I've usually always work it fast to very fast but always cpmpletely stop with a slightly slack line in between twitches. Sometimes they only hit it when it's stopped for a second or two. Sometimes only a half second, but for me, it always seems to come on the hesitation.
  12. I have caught trout at Taney on crankbaits, but never a WW. I guess it's the hesitation in the jerkbait cadence that really causes the strike.
  13. Pretty cool!
  14. I've never even seen one. My friend told me his grandfather used to fish for them on the Mississippi with a dead horse. According to him, you would have to tie a rope around the horses neck to keep the eels from escaping when the horse was pulled to shore. I guess they entered the horse through the "nether" regions. Sounds like an old wives tale to me!!!, or maybe a horsesTAIL
  15. I would agree Tim, they are the classic "kill and eat the goose that lays the golden egg" mentality country. Believe me, I could tell you many stories!
  16. Probably a zip line monorail system http://www.treehousesupplies.com/Zip_Line_Platform_p/plan%205.1.htm
  17. Way to go Scott!
  18. I'm happy to say that since I released my ex- wife, she has grown considerably.
  19. You're exactly right again. BTW, Did you ever think about sharing your "stream report card" that you produced for the MSA members with the OAF? or are there too many secrets?
  20. Nice fish KC!
  21. Why dont we have a survey where we list our personal best Missouri STREAM smallie and the date it was caught.... Here's mine 21" Jan 1 2009
  22. Well we've reached that time of the year when the majority of the smallies have moved away from the springs. I always have to start fresh trying to figure out where they go now. Partially because I'm mainly a fall and winter fisherman and it takes a while to get out of that mode. Anyway I wish I had more time to figure it out. This why I find the fall more consistent, especially for the big ones. (Although Al disagrees with me )
  23. Catch and release in reality has nothing to do with elitism or self righteousness. It's just we want the biggest fish to be there for everyone.
  24. That's good to hear Jeb, looks like Beaver will rival TR on the smallies.
