Actually the funniest thing is watching the Asians fight over chestnut procuring methods. 😂 The park rangers had to get involved, one Chinese guy came a pole with a hook on it and was shaking branches and knocking them off. They are definitely the “kill the goose that lays the golden egg and eat it for supper” culture. Then the others who see him collect more chestnuts than them come screaming. It’s a fiasco.😂

I like pretty much all the Japanese baits, I also like the SPRO. But if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the Squad Minnow 95 by Jackall. What’s your favorite jerk bait?

Going to try Gordon’s short rib recipe tonight. Wolfgang Puck has a similar version, but this one looks better to me. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I always tie my minnow patterns with 3-4 materials. The hardest to find is good quality thin bucktail for the wing. The second is crosscut rabbit Palmered on the shank of the hook for the body, then a tail of either rabbit zonkers (not my favorite), Arctic Fox, or marabou. The last is some type of thin flash material. I usually tie it on a 1/16th to 1/8 oz jig head, sometimes I’ll go up to 1/4 Oz. Ps. I think the bucktail wing is one of the most important parts...keeps the tail from bending 90 degrees in the fall. -
All of this gallivanting would upset Ned Pepper!
