I hope Sam makes it and I will be routing for him. From a comfort level I think the Rams were the best possible choice, but Wayne is right he did not look good during his pro day and as OTF said he will face stiff competition. There were parts of the season, during SEC play, he disappeared. I think he was drafted about were he should have been, maybe a round higher, but the "tweener" label unfortunately fits him well. Kony Ealy was much more consistent throughout the whole year, and it showed in the draft.
Sam is a high motor guy, and he could be productive on special teams if can't crack the pass rush rotation. Regardless, it won't be for lack of effort, and hopefully if he doesn't make it, the media won't turn it into a circus...because he project as a border line player. Hopefully, those projections are wrong.
