  1. That could be a good one!
  2. Yeah, I am still not sure what to think of him either. A part of me thinks he will take the next step, but another part of me thinks he is what he is. He is a junior so this is the year to make the leap if it is going to happen.
  3. HC football has come along way since I was that young. I admit I don't follow it much, but I am sure that will change as my kids get older. I am assuming tomorrow night is the 1st game?
  4. A couple weeks until college football begins...my favorite time of the year. MU's second scrimmage was definitely encouraging with an impressive performance from the offensive units. D-line also recorded 9 sacks. Charles Harris is beast at DE. Mauk was 15-22 throwing mostly short and intermediate routes. Lock was again impressive at 16-21. The coaches are trying to cool the expectations, but internally Lock is the best freshman QB Mizzou has ever had. That comparison includes Chase Daniel. WR might be inexperienced, but they are a completely different group than we saw in spring. There are several big time game changes in the ranks and this won't be our weakness. It will be average at worst and It could very well be a strength by the end of the year and certainly in 2016. The OL has been struggling which is a bit of surprise, but the OL is usually the last units to mesh. DL depth is going to be an issue and is my biggest concern outside of Mauk's accuracy. Brantley's injury was a real blow. Running game has not done much, but that hasn't seemed to be a huge priority so far. Some of that is the desire to get reps for the young receivers and resting Hansborough. DB's and linebacker will be great, but if the DL struggles it will make it hard for the defense to be dominant. This year, more so than recent years, really has wide range of possibilities. Lot's of talent, but depth on the OL and DL and Mauk's accuracy could derail it. Should be fun to watch. How is your team looking?
  5. Looks awesome. Well done!
  6. All games will be on the ESPN suite, sec network, or CBS. The Arkansas state game will not be televised since it is subject to their TV agreements which is why it is a bad idea to play a lower conferance team on the road. You can view through ESPN 3 online currently. BTW drew lock was by far the best QB in scrimmage today. He is gonna play on Sunday. We do NOT have a receiver problem...young put seriously looked great. Mauk more of the same....
  7. That is horrible.
  8. I just posted a couple pics from my phone. Super easy. Once you select to "attach files" select documents and then your photo gallery and you are pretty much done. When I selected camera is just came up blank. Not sure if that is just my phone, but selecting document gives you a host of options. I too noticed the advertising banner kinda messed with the display, but overall I think it will be a great upgrade.
  9. Cool it is easy to post pics from my phone! That will be much more convenient for me since I don't use a computer anymore. Thanks 5bites...he does great!
  10. Testing out the new forum upgrades from my phone. Below are a few pics of my 2 yr old's first fishing trip. He did great! Reels in his line like a champ. Casting will take some practice, but he loves it. He especially likes catching "babies"...what we call Bluegill...cause they are small like his baby brother.
  11. TFO professional series is a pretty good rod in that price range. I really like the Cabela's RLS reels too...I have 3 of them. If trout is your game initially, with occasional bass fishing, then you can cover many of your needs with 9ft 5 weight TFO. If you get really hooked on bass you can buy a 7 weight later. That is exactly what I did. Don't skimp on a cheap rod or fly line. You can skimp on the reel if you want at first. Just like gear fishing you may find you want a different fly rod for different species and different presentations all of which may add to your enjoyment of fishing and probably cause you to spend more money than you would like! However, any medium weight fly rod gets you on the water at first and will catch the vast majority of fish in our area. Really the weight of the fly rod has as much to do with species as to the size/weight of the fly you want to throw. I like length to my fly rods as they help with distance and playing fish. Shorter rods are more specialized and for me I don't see the need for them, but this is preference so cast a couple and pick the one that feels right...that is the most important thing at first.
  12. Your 5 weight will work for bass in open water situations and it is plenty of rod for the fish, but if you want to cast larger flies a 7 weight is really an ideal smallmouth rod. Your shoulder will thank you.
  13. Any Steven Seagal movie...j/k. You all have listed many of my favorites so I'll name a few others I enjoyed. Inception was one of my favorites and I see a few others mentioned the Goonies and the Great Outdoors (some of my childhood favorites). Weird Science and the Lost Boys were other favorites of mine as a kid. The original Rocky and the original Star Wars Trilogy are high on my list. Jaws and was good, but those sequels were god awful.
  14. Glad you had fun. It takes a little practice to get used to the fly rod and weekend days can be very tough with all the crowds.
  15. Yep, that was an action packed game for sure. Great seats. Good to see Carpenter finally break out!
  16. 14 is an odd number for sure. 12 or 16 is much better. With a pod system in a 16 team conference you play each school every three years and everyone in your division plays the exact same schedule.
  17. Yeah, some of the scenarios/rumors are just nuts. It will be really interesting to see how it all unfolds in the end. Boren's comments regarding the LHN certainly hint at some frustration between OU and Texas. I think Texas is fine with the status quo or adding other Texas schools, and clearly OU is not. If OU could I think they would leave now, but lots of issues complicating the move. The ACC is also having trouble getting their conference network together and the grant of rights for that conference is contingent on that happening. There could be some growing discontent and easy out there as well. I really think Texas will avoid a move at all costs unless they have too. Even if OU would leave Texas would be fine reinventing the SWC part II if given the opportunity. Texas has to be king. The BIG 10 or Pac 12 could go crazy and start taking Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, Kstate, Iowa State, in an attempt to force Texas's hand. That is another crazy scenario floating around. I just don't see any conference taking Texas with the LHN and I don't see Texas giving that up unless they have too. In the meantime the rest of the Big 12 is held hostage.
  18. I think something is going on with OU and the Big 12. Not exactly sure, but quite a bit of smoke for there to be nothing. Rumors seem to be circulating of several different possibilities. Boren's recent comments only fueled the fire again. Scenario # 1 OU to the SEC and UT to the BIG Scenario #2 OU and OSU to the SEC UT and KU to the B1G Scenario # 3 4 teams to the PAC OU and UT to the B1G Personally, I think OU is attempting to find homes for at least 8 of there conference mates so they can vote to dissolve the Big 12. This makes the most sense since the remaining Big 12 teams likely will be split up amongst the remaining conferences. If that can't be accomplished I think they may go ahead and try to move on their own. I don't think UT and SEC will ever happen so I think Texas to the B1G or PAC 12 seems likely. KU would seem to fit with the BIG. I don't think the SEC would take OU and OSU because of redunancy, but they might take one. I am not sure who they take as the 16th school though. Personally, I would want OU and KU from the Big 12.
  19. Huge win for the Redbird's last night...especially with 4 upcoming in Pittsburgh. With our offensive struggles as of late I will be thrilled with a 4 game split in Pittsburgh...they have been playing great.
  20. Yeah, the offense is really anemic... I am just not sure who they can trade to pick up a bat. Our system is not stocked like the last several years....
  21. Looks like it is over 5 feet and running over 1800 CFS...that is just a bit high!
  22. That is true...the teams that play playoff type baseball in September have historically fared better come October.
  23. 51-24. 9 game lead in the division. All this without Wainwright, Adams, Holliday, and Walden. Pitching has still simply been awesome. Holliday and Walden should be back soon. If Matheny can find a way to limit the innings of the young pitchers and we can find another decent bat this team could be unstoppable.
  24. Great Shots!

    Joe Kelly

Allen Craig was a really good ballplayer, but injuries really hurt him and I think his foot is still an issue. It is shame too...he was a great guy and very well liked in St. Louis. He was actually better than Pujols in the clutch for a couple years. I really hope he is able to get it back.
