  1. I doubt anyone remembers, but I used to tow my riverboat with a vw TDI beetle. It towed great and got 25mpg towing. really miss that car.
  2. If you have a light boat its not hard to drag up a gravel bar either.
  3. I used to fish with a 18x36" 9.9 mariner and a manual jackplate. You would be amazed where I could run.
  4. i have a 25hp merc jet for sale.
  5. my wife and I took a 18x36 jon boat with a 9.9 from riverton to myrtle in august with no issues.
  6. My only issue would be how fast you can steer, but I think you can get different ratios with them.
  7. I would like to try one too. I have always thought a stick steer trout boat would be perfect.
  8. that would totally work on me.
  9. Ever wonder why offshore boats run 4 strokes? and have been running them for 20 years? Longevity, fuel economy, and dependability. Why do I love my yamaha 4 strokes?? quiet, fuel efficient, dependable.
  10. beautiful, and a great day for a trip
  11. I absolutely love my yamaha 4 strokes. They are more complicated than a carbureted engines but I would not go back to anything except maybe a 3 hole yamaha.
  12. I have only had experience with the yamaha setup. I haven't owned a mercury large enough to have oil injection, and the omc 40/50's I have had were blocked off, but I thought they injected into the intake?? It has been a long time. forgot that I had a 115 that had the oil injection hooked up but I didn't trust it so I mixed the gas 100:1 to give it a little bit of a backup haha.
  13. FWIW, almost every oil injection system I have seen on atvs/outboards works the same. Maybe johnson/evinrude is different? I always deleted them.
  14. also I highly suggest finding a big tiller for it.
  15. I agree. I have had a 40/28, 50, and a 90. all oil injected and all worked excellent. While hooking the oil injection back up, get a set of reeds and remove the reed limiters. That will really wake up the motor.
  16. We had our priorities in line! Fishing was rough this weekend so we focused on comradery and hit it out of the park.
  17. notice every one of them running 3 hole yamahas
  18. Dinghy races are amazing to watch, and this racer has the best scenery I have ever seen to look at.
  19. 100% agree. Reading the water is paramount to mimizing damage. "look for the V" when running upstream through a shoal, that is the deepest water in the shoal.
  20. Absolutely.
  21. Setting it up right is the most important thing. put a straight edge along the bottom of the boat and line the leading edge of the foot up with it. I highly suggest adding some carbon fiber reeds. The acceleration improvement is profound.
  22. Jesus that is insane.
  23. Less than two weeks. @Terrierman @grizwilson either of yall able to make it?
