  1. yeah looks pretty swift at 893 cf/s I prefer to fish it slow, I think I will social distance in my own county this time
  2. Its a good idea, ponca was overrun with people last weekend I hear.
  3. I am not sure, I bet they are trying to keep canoeists away like Arkansas. I am set on South fork now, now just to decide where...
  4. Yah its a smooth river. I am torn, I hate to waste a good day of fishing but paddling new water sounds very tempting.
  5. this is roughly a 6.5 float on the strawberry. Not too far from the house. definitely doable
  6. I like your thinking
  7. Now that I am hearing that there are cases of re-infection I am of the belief that it was created by man.
  8. lmao I have a net with no bad ju-ju
  9. in 2009 when obama won the nobel peace prize for basically showing up, he beat out 200 people who actually did something to further peace Nobel prizes aren't what they used to be.
  10. Yes, just keep it under Fahrenheit 451
  11. i am very lucky, for sure
  12. I am of the same mind. It may come down to a dart board
  13. None of you quarantined people have an opinion?
  14. I have a rare mid-week day off this week. Wednesday, and it is supposed to be 85 for a high and I am going to HAVE to go on a float...somewhere. I cant decide where. Here are my ideas so far: South fork of the spring: close to the house, zero pressure, but I have floated it numerous times. Bryant Creek: zero pressure, fishing should be good, but also familiar Crooked Creek: should be zero pressure, have not floated it in 5+ years, fishing SHOULD be good. Strawberry river: never floated it, no pressure, but also no knowledge of fishery, also relatively close to the house. Myatt creek: near complete unknown, no pressure. ????? other places? I am going to limit myself to 10 miles or less, I dont think I can effectively fish more than that.
  15. I think there is more than meets the eye there, especially with Japan. Their population is aging
  16. Part of the reason for scaring people is in the hopes everyone will stay home, but If at least 50% of the workforce is "essential" (myself included) it will never work. This virus spreads easier than the flu because you will be transmitting it for days with no symptoms. With the statistics we have right now though it is NOT any more deadly than the "regular" flu which killed roughly 2% in 2018-2019. (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2018-2019.html)
  17. Most of the media is sensationalizing it like crazy. CBS went as far as to use footage from italy, but portraying it as hospitals in NYC. Then you see videos on youtube of the same hospitals with basically no people. Who do you believe? I know my wife went to Baxter county hospital yesterday to get blood drawn and she said the hospital was almost deserted.
  18. Am I a believer? yes. Do I believe its as serious/bad as the media is portraying it? no. Am I taking precautions? Dam right. The internet has ruined me to where if I cant see it with my two eyes, or someone I trust sees it with their two eyes, I dont believe it. Thank GOD I live where I do. Rural America has been looked down on for a century, now is our time to shine.

  21. Harbor freight hand tools are serviceable. I used them for years before going to snap on. all my stuff is snap on now.
