Ham Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Flatheads have the reputation of being the best tasting of the catfish and taste good even when large. I would err on the side of caution and selectively harvest the smaller flatheads (< 10 lbs) and let the bigger fish go to reproduce and thrill someone else. I've caught a few flatheads while bass fishing, but have not chosen to kill any that I have caught. I tend to keep the smaller channels and blues for eating. Again, I prefer to keep the smaller fish becuase I believe they taste better. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Quillback Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I catch blues over on Grand Lake - they are the best eating catfish I have ever had.
loo10 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Flatheads aren't good to eat at all. And they are a real pain to clean too. I'll be glad to take those ol' nasty fish off anyones hands who happens to catch them. You know...just trying to help my fellow man. "Mama, git the grease HOT!!"
