I'm rigging my canoe for fly fishing and would like suggestions on where I can find storage bags that would hang from or tie around the seats in my canoe? LL Bean has a couple but they're small. Ideally, they would be bags with straps that either velcro or snap around seats and thwart in case of a capsize.

I use a variety of bags, they have improved greatly over the years. I have some heavy vinyl ones, some camo ones, and now a lightweight nylon with a waterproof coating. There are clear ones now that serve a good purpose. I also use some of the gladlock plastic containers that have a clip lock lid with a rubber seal like the pelican cases.

www.nrsweb.com has a variety on their website.

I bought one at walmart that looked a lot like the ones at bass pro in the first link. Payed about $12 for it and it is way bigger then I need. I just click the latch around the seat post so it stays in the boat if I tip.

Piragis Northwoods is another good online source for a variety of dry bags. I've been getting mine from the Alpine Shop in St. Louis for the last few years...they have a great selection.

I just use five gallon buckets with sealable lids. Cheap and effective.

Alpine Shop in STL has what you need...Dry Bags are great. My wife and I can pack a weeks worth of dry gear in an 80 cube and a 120 cube Sea Lines...good bags..havent started leaking yet and they have been on a couple hundred floats since I bought em...another good addition is a dry box..have one from pelican that clamps to my canoes gunwhales..great box..two clips in and out. great for the camera, but wipe, and other stuff that you like to have handy. Cheers.
