Fishhand Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 But what is that destination? What does he want to accomplish if he makes it to office? What are his plans to achieve the change? I couldn't get the post/link to work. You'll have to copy and paste in your browser. http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/ObamaBlueprintForChange.pdf

You'll have to copy and paste in your browser. http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/ObamaBlueprintForChange.pdf How much will this plan cost? Because out of the thousands of times it says "Obama will do" most of it is entitlements and "Obama is against Deficits" so where does this money come from? The answer is anyone making too much. The old wealth re-distribution method. Or you might call him Robin Hood. I am very worried what this man could do to a wealthy family making $100,000.
bigredbirdfan Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Here is his wonderful immigration plan: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/immigration_and_the_border

Warren Buffett knows a little more about the economy. I trust his judgement more than yours. He blasted the system which allows him to pay a lower tax rate than his secretary and his house cleaner: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/money/tax...icle1996735.ece He also supports Obama and believes he will "bring outstanding ideas" to the White House: http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/08/16/...ama-Buffett.php Getting back to the Republicans and Palin, I find it fascinating that a party that considers themselves to be the stalwarts of family values and considers liberals as Godless, have so many problems on the family value front. To wit: 1. Palin 2. McCain - divorced, cheated on 1st wife 3. Newt Gingrich - divorced, cheated on 1st wife 4. Henry Hyde (led impeachment hearings against Clinton) - cheated 5. Giulani - divorced, his own kids will not speak to him 6. Reagan - divorced 7. Larry Craig - he of the wide stance 8. Mark Foley - sex with Congressional Pages 9. Limbaugh - Divorced 10. Cheney - Lesbian Daughter And they always want to bring up Clinton. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. No doubt both parties have their rogues; there are plenty of immoral democrats and there is hypocracy on both sides of the aisle. We would be much better off if we got off the personal politics and negative campaigning. Sadly I do not expect it to happen.

We found out we could tolerate anything after the impeached William Jefferson Clinton. Amazing how we can use his middle name and even Dubbuh (even though it is double u) and nobody is offended but use Hussein and can't say that. How much tax did Warren Buffett say a family making $100,000 would pay under this grandeous plan? And how do you know I'm not Warren Buffett?
Quillback Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Buffet may be taxed at a lower rate, since he mostly makes money through investments rather than salary, but he pays millions vs the secretary paying thousands - and what does ol Warren get for it from the federal govt. that his secretary doesn't? It's an easy argument to say that the tax system as is, is unfairly biased against wealthy taxpayers. (Not that I'm one of them). Personally I'm in favor of a flat rate no exceptions tax system. Our tax system is uneccessarily complicated.
Guest kevinkirk Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Well at least she is easy to look at...VERY beautiful woman and seems sincere. Thats all I need. Not much of that around anymore.
davekeim Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 You gotta love America! Where else could you live were they would appoint Ted Kennedy to an ethics committee! Signed, Cardiac Abdito! Another Beautiful Day In The Ozarks
Trav Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I like the flat tax idea as well, Quillback. Has anyone noticed how many times your money is taxed? Your boss has to tax the money he earns, wich came from people who payed taxes on it, who had to pay taxes on that, going back infinitavely. Then your boss has to pay taxes on his earnings and then takes taxes from what he pays you. You pay taxes on that money even more when you have to buy gas, again on food, again when you buy clothes, again when you buy shoes, again when you buy a car, again when you buy a home, again when you buy a boat, again when you buy a truck, and if you want to use the car, truck or boat, you have to pay taxes every year or so on them again. Also, if you want have a warm home with lights and means of communication, you have to pay taxes on gas, electricity and a phone. Plus you have to pay taxes even more if you want Sat/cable TV or internet service. Not to mention, that if you want to keep your home, your paying property tax, school tax, fire tax, and depending if your in town or not, your paying city tax. Then, as if that isn't enough, at the end of the year, you have to add up all your personal property and pay taxes on it all again. Lets not forget, that if your paying alimony, the money you where already taxed on, gets taxed again when your ex-wife gets it. Even the hard earned money you have saved, gets taxed every year again and again and your not even spending it. Nothing is sacred, your paying a tax if you own a horse, a pig, a cow, or even a donkey. And speaking of donkeys, we shouldn't let a donkey tax us more.
