Here's a quick question for you all... I've heard there's a ramp near State Park that is a bit more sheltered (don't know if I could count the number of breakers I've taken over the stern putting in), is that Big Bay? thanks

FYI- State Park is not a Corps of Engineers Ramp. You don't need a pass to launch there.

One good thing about a Corps pass is that its good at any Corps ramp in the United States.

By all means it should be good at all Corps ramps in the USA. If that is the case then Texas must still be a country of its own. I have had several Corp parks in TX charge me to launch at the attendant shack. I point to my pass and they say sorry but that is not valid in this park.

The ramp by State Park is Moonshine Beach. It's more protected than State Park's ramp but still catches the West and NW winds pretty good.

I did hear a rumor last year that any "private" ramp, i.e. resort ramps are open to the public due to the fact that they are on Corp. land. Anyone have anything to back that up with?

Here are the facts: If you have to go across private property to get to the launch ramp it " IS NOT OPEN TO The PUBLIC " . As resort owners pay an annual rental fee to the USACOE for boat docks, launch ramps, etc. anything on USACOE property paid a rental fee on is deemed private property that becomes the resort owners responsiblity. Therefore the resort owner has the right to determine who can & cannot use anything on that property. Some believe that if they enter onto the property ( BOAT DOCK ETC. ) from the lake ( OFF A BOAT ) they are legal, in fact they are trespassing & either the State of MO. Water Patrol or the Sheriffs Dept. can arrest & take into custody people doing such & charge them with criminal trespass.

Of course its Sweetwater, what a dummy. Big Bay is out YY hwy out of Shell Knob on the way to Campbell Pt. You just hang a left and drop down into Big Creek. It is very well marked.

Hey Bill, did you have a bad day? I just pulled up a map of TR and the ramp at the mouth of sweetwater IS named the 'Kings River access.'

The folks I know who live in the Carr Lane / Golden area call it Sweetwater.

And shoot, I knew Big Bay was out of SK!

I wish I could remember the name of the ramp around State Park... wasn't Moonshine, mebbe a private ramp(?)

The COE office in Mountain Home told me they have the "new" passes for the next 12 mionths, BUT they aren't selling them now or chargeing for area ramps ????
