Lebanon Daily Record just reported that this fish was actually 18 pounds and was a new park record!! Also they reported that this isn't the first time you've held the record, sir.. Congrats on that sir, will you take me fishing next time?

CC,

Jack must have caught another, larger fish, that the Daily Record is reporting on. It is certainly "not" the fish that is pictured at the start of "this" topic. This fish was supposedly weighed in at Weaver's at 13 pounds. It looks to be a 12.5 to 13 pound fish. The net bag on Jack's net is the standard 24 inch bag. I would guess this fish at 27 inches and I would give it a 20 inch girth in relationship to the size of Jack's hand. 27 x 20 would put it at 13.5. A tremendous fish, but not an 18 pounder. I would like to see a picture of the fish they are reporting. It would be typical of Jack to catch two giant fish this past month.

As long as it is legal, ethical, and doesn't offend anyone that matters...then all is right with the world. No? :)

Guys in trees with binoculars and two way radios???

Ethical???

I guess that's a fine line. I bet a guy who gets a lunkers that way (as opposed to someone who didn't) really feels all full of himself and considers himself a real sportsman. Also I would keep track with a log of lunkers you get. Warm and fuzzy..Yes sir that will do it. Now up to the outhouse to prove the manhood :lol::lol: .

I can honestly say, that in 30 years of fishing trout parks, streams, and rivers all over I've never seen anyone in a tree with binoculars and a walkie-talkie. When did this epidemic begin ?

I have seen guys bait fishing in zones 1&2, seen guys intentionally trying to snag fish with crappie jigs, and even saw a guy helping his kid fish in the hatchery raceways.

Maybe the "tree people" were rangers keeping an eye on someone.

We should start a thread about weird and hilarious things we have seen at the trout parks....Never forget the time I drove by the spring hole one day during the closed season, this was back before they had C&R winter fishing and it was cold as hell and not a soul around. I was just idling by real slow, checkin things out from the warmth of my truck.....and a big black and yellow FROGMAN popped up out of the spring hole, shed his nymphal shuck, morphed into a human, threw his shuck and himself into a blue Ford Pinto and drove away without ever even looking in my direction.

swearta God !

As to all this other debauchery about people climbing up into trees or making food pellet shaped flies...

If somebody is goofy enough to spend $400 on a rod then you shouldn't assume they aren't crazy enough to climb up into a tree with a pair of binoculars, use a grappling hook to make a hanging ladder accross the river, drop his fishfinder down into the weeds, pray while he puts on his waders, or whatever..

Give the man a break, he fishin'!!!!! Jeeeeeeezzzzzzzz......

CC,

Thanks for that info. I would have bet money that the fish in the picture was not the record fish reported by the paper. Seems they are one and the same as is reported. I'll say congrats to Jack, once again. I've watched this guy catch big fish for 30 years, and I'm still envious.
