Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 28, 2008 Root Admin Posted October 28, 2008 I get it... stirring the pot!! To answer one question- all the generation and flood water pushed alot of gravel from the bottom and from the outer banks downstream and filled in some areas. Fishing comment- browns- everybody is frustrated with the situation. Very few browns right now when there should be tons. Late? Early? Skipping a year? Not sure anyone knows. DO is always bad this time of year- nothing new. Higher water temps is different and gets the blame for bad fishing days- rightly so possibly. Rainbows- Skinny trout- some are but most are not. Bill reported catching lots of rainbows spitting out lots of small scuds above Fall Creek the other day. Vince had one of the best days of guiding/fly fishing last week he'd ever had. Don't think these are the reports Jeremy was referring to (hopefully). I can vouch for either of these as being 100% accurate. Fishing is fishing and not catching! Everybody has an opinion and has a right to it. But if you type out an opinion that calls out people for lying to drum up biz... you may get pounded. Just a warning.
Jeremy Hunt Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 Didn't even think of Bill and Vince when I wrote the report. "But if you type out an opinion that calls out people for lying to drum up biz" WHAT? I didn't single anyone out and that wasn't my intention when I wrote the report. It was a overall report (in general) on the conditions at Taney. Fishing can be up and down and yes it's just fishing, but Taney is a fishery that can produce alot of fish on a regular basis. So the moral to the report is to let people know it's not like it used to be. When I fished Taney the other day I caught fish pretty much the whole day, but you had to work a little harder to get them and to me, that shouldn't be the case with this fishery. It's a bath tub full of fish and anybody beginner can have a good day their first time out. Right now, not so much. That's being real. Accept the drift.....<>>><flysandguides.comVisit my blog
snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Sounds like the trout got the better of Jeremy and he's stinging from it. It's okay to post a bad days report. SIO3
flyfishmaster Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 When I read Jerey's report yesterday, I have to say I did not see any names or exact location on where the reports he read came from. So I don't see anybody getting called out. If this did occur a good old is in order. (Dano, thanks for that gif files a few weeks ago) Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!

I just took offense to someone saying that I don't know nutting about nuttin about Taney and I have been coming there for 30 + years. Also implying that some people are posting lies and that fishing is really good. I don't know what he was reading but I have heard both good and bad reports. Knowing most of the posters and fishing with some of them I know they are men of integrety and don't lie. I have seen several posts about the terrible days and reasons why they may be bad including ones of late by Phil. No one attacked those folks but they didn't insinuate that the good reports were lies either. I have fished on a weeks vacation several days before and got nearly skunked for one or two of the days.. Then I discovered the presentation, fly, or place that the fish wanted and the rest was downhill. Phil: I just booked 4 days on the in December 26 -7-8-9 a few minutes ago. So good or bad I will be there to give it a try. Actually a bad day fishing is alway better than best days sitting at the keyboard reading reports. Thanks for providing the forum for all to express their thoughts and share experiences ... good or bad. I have learned volumes from sportsmen about many fishing issues. Thom Harvengt
Jeremy Hunt Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 Sounds like the trout got the better of Jeremy and he's stinging from it. It's okay to post a bad days report. SIO3 Not the case. I still caught fifty or so in a six hour day. I enjoy it every time I go fishing. Any day you're on the water is a good day. I'm thankful for my health which allows me to do this. Jeremy Hunt Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 Jeremy, don't sweat these guys. You are entitled to your opinion. I appreciate you giving us the striaght dope and I am sure others do as well. I'm just a pion. I only get to fish Taney a handful of times a year and rely on you kind folk who actually know what you are talking about. With all the flooding, it is real hard to look at this year on Taneycomo and say it has been great. For all those like myself who are hoofing it below the dam, it has been real tough with 30 gizillion cubic feet per second coming from Table Rock, basically 24/7 for the last several months. (Not too mention all the people who have lost docks, property, customers, etc.) Hey, next year has got to be better. You know I got to thinking about it. I'm not going to sweat these guys. I'll say what I want. Accept the drift.....<>>><flysandguides.comVisit my blog
Thom Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Here is a quote from another forum from Jeremy: ????????????????????????? Quote:I added this on Ozarkanglers forum and got some haters today. I found myself defending myself for giving this honest report. Can you believe that. I'm glad those people aren't on this one. We might not have alot of people over here, but who we do have I consider my true readers and I would take any one of you out if I bumped into you on the river. There’s always a place for you in my boat. unquote I read all of the comments and saw no haters.... just folks with opinions. Actually Jeremy I have recommend you before on the basis of what I have heard of you ability for folks who fish Taney. I wouldn't have done that if I hated you. Jeremy Hunt Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 You need to lighten up. The report wasn't directed to you at all. Do you have a website that focus your guide trips on Taneycomo? I didn't know you were a guide. Call what you will, look at what you just did. Go over to my forum cut and paste my topic for everyone to see. Looks like your hating.
