I think that maybe we should have a revival of the original night fisherman, and have them give there tactics on how they hunt for the big one at night.

I can tell dad that there is a 1 minute limit, and then I will shut him up in 15 minutes.

Lets try and get this organized what do you all think?

Terry all you had to do is ask :P

Michael,

Start it up! I enjoy hearing from your Dad. I miss not getting to fish with him and Big Jim like I used to.

Dang, Jerod... you must be special... He never has done anything like that for me or Duane or Ronnie... huh, guys?

The only thing Michael has ever done for me is reduced my checking account!! My wife won't even allow me to stop by there anymore, I think she has a gps tracking device on my car. Seriously, she did convince my mother in law not to buy me a BCO gift certificate for Christmas this year. She told her that a $40 certificate would end up costing us $80. I told her taxes were expensive on that side of town.

But don't worry Michael I'm thinking I need a new rod, a couple of new reels and new line to go with it all. Do you have layaway???

I was down for the night fishing clinic last year and it was a good time. I fished with Stubby and was quite the frustrating pupil. That was my fault, I showed up having not touched my fly rod in 3 months and expected to cast perfectly in the dark. A couple of wind knots and some short strikes and I struck out in a couple of hours. It was a tough night fishing for everyone though. Next time will be a different matter.

Michael I will be down in a few weeks and will make sure I can get my the shop during business hours. I will shoot you a PM to give you some warning. You might have a Z-Axis with my name on it anyway...

My experience has been if Olive ain't workin' on Taney, switch to sumpin' red and you'll soon have your line twitchin'...

I have to stay true to my KState roots, purple is always the second fly. Always.

Great idea Michael!

I think the 1 min. limit would surely open Stubby up for at least 30.

Not trying to hijack the thread but while we are on the topic of Michael's flies...

Michael, I fished with your dad and he gave me a couple of flies he called an Ace of Spades. One in black and one in purple. They looked like a common sculpin pattern but I havent been able to find them again. I always seem to pass through Springfield at odd hours, do you have them in the shop? Duane recognized them last time I ran into him. The black one was on its last leg.

Mohair leeches.....somebody once said them aint no good???? The only trouble with them is getting the specially blended colors. Sometimes you have to get into Michaels secret stash B)

I'm here to qualify your mohair leech, DD. Over the past 15 or more years, I watched Stubby and Big Jim Murphy catch fish after fish on the mohair leech. Back when big browns were harder to come by, Big Jim catches the 15 pounder. 5 & 6 pound rainbow was a nightly occurance for that pair. I also had the privilege of being there when Stubby caught the big walleye on the mohair leech. Check out the picture in Michael's shop. 11pound 4 ounce. Give me a "mohair leech" and an"ace of spades".

Ya gotta love the "Ace of Spades". You definately are not doing yourself any favors by not having one in your flybox!

Ok, duckydoty~

How do I go about getting a couple of these in my flybox?????

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.
