jdmidwest Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Sleeting more than freezing rain here and coming down good at 9 pm in Jackson, MO. Schools closed and calling for worst storm in 2 decades. Maybe 2 inches of ice with 5-10 inches of snow. Why can't we get a nice gentle snow? "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

zander Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 We had two transformers blow on the street leaving us without power for about two hours, not too bad, but very glad to have it back.
bclift65706 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 we had freezing rain just in time for school to get out drove by the bus barn at 7 pm looked like a lot of busses still out. Marshfield has not canciled school that I know of so the school will start calling at 5 am and call every 5 mins untile I answer the phone. I have about 2in of sleet over a good glazing of freezing rain.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 27, 2009 Root Admin Posted January 27, 2009 Doesn't look good down here in Branson- I'm sure it doesn't look good all over the area. KY3's site is down. Depending on where their server is, that probably means Springfield's power is down. We had rain most of the night but it's now starting to cling to the trees. We'll see if it's bad enough to bring them down before it stops. When will it stop? Not sure. We have one big tree that leans over the lake and the dock. If it goes it will flatten a section of our dock.
Danoinark Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Were having brown outs. Some areas around me are without power. Its probably just a matter of time here. Good luck everybody. Business and offices are closed and everything is pretty much shut down. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
back2roots Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 We're still good here. 3/4" plus of ice and still have pellets coming down. No power problems...and since we both work from home, no drive to worry about. No tree damage....yet. Stay Safe everyone!!!! Bill If you liked the sound....Thank the engineer!
taxidermist Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 HAd sleet last night about 2 inches of it and rain this AM, o ver an inch on the power lines. Some brown outs, the COOP has been trimming high line right of ways out here so with any luck we will be ok.
