Got a great report from my friend Chris about last weekend...he hooked and landed a 28" brown at the Falls on a rubber leg stone...long snaky male..said they tore em up on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. His pic is up at Hargroves if you want to take a gander at it. Cheers.

28 ! Gawdalmighty ! At the Falls no less, I get my butt handed to me at the falls e-v-e-r-y time. I can get dialed-in at Jack's tho.

What is it about that river and rubberlegs ? that fly is worthless to me everywhere else.

NIIIIIIICE!

The Falls aren't my favorite place to fish for sure but we catch big fish there just about as often as anywhere....on the right water.

The river HAS been fishing really, really well.

The north fork has a really good population on stoneflys. That is the reason for the rubberlegs working so well. Most other streams in missouri don't have the populations that the north fork has.

There are two types of people. Those who dream dreams and wish, then there are the do'ers. I am a do'er!

The Falls are usually hit or miss for me as well. I'm sure that there are always some nice fish up under that ledge...but its rare to find it in an undisturbed state..I paddle right on over w/o stopping most of the time. Cheers.

I was with Chris when he hooked Mr. Brown and we chased it down river about 100 yards after the hook-up, rod bent all the way to the cork. I happened to be standing next to the boat when he went running down the river in waist high water. I grabbed the boat net and was right behind him  , finely Mr Brown came close to the long handle net, fish came head first, splash, net up, fish in and safe. lots of cheering and high fives. :D After a quick measure, some pictures Mr. Brown was released in sound shape for someone else to have the same thrill somewhere down the line. As Mr. Brown made his way back up river the three of us toasted him with three bottles of Goose Head beer. B)

We did fine one Stone Fly in the boat and its color and length was the same as our fly, Also used a Soft Hackle as a trailer with both flies catching about the same numbers of fish which = lots of fish for the three days.

Man I can feel the stomach turning adrenalin kicking in just thinking about big brown smashing through the water.

I'm glad to see that Mr. Brown is still doing well at the falls. I haven't seen him since last spring. Good to hear he's maturing in his old age, last I saw him at the falls he was just a little 26'' guppy ;)

Kyle, that fish's tail is as wide as your hat. Who caught who ? Give us a story...that fish is becoming a legend. Rolfie, the king of the Falls. Somebody should write a song LOL
