Ammo Sales

Recommended Posts

From what I have noticed in the news, print news seems for the most not use the term "assult" and TV news seems to like the term "assult" Now it goes without saying there are exceptions.

BTW, for any of you looking for ammo, I happen to be at Orscheln's, which is a large farm store chain, this evening and there didn't seem to be any shortage. Numerous boxes of .22, 270, 308, and many others.

They are out over here in all but the rifle cartridges and shotshells. Did they have any Handgun cartridges or 223, 308? Buccheits Farm center is out of Bulk 22 lr here also along with most retailers of the country. CCI Stingers and Mini Mags are in abundance for 7 cents a round vs Federal or Remington Bulk which normally run 3 cents a round.

80 percent of my shooting is done with 22 lr, the kid shoots alot of it too. She received the same thing for her 13th bday last year as I did when I turned 13, a Ruger 10-22. I still hunt with mine and can shoot groups at 40 yards that can be covered with a nickle. I wonder how many thousands of rounds I have put thru mine. I even gave her one of my "hoarded" 30 round mags that were outlawed by the 1994 ban.

Something happened early on this year with the bulk box 22, Wally did not have stacks of it sitting on the shelves and counter like they normally do in the summer and fall. Our suppliers have not had any bulk 22 or cheap 22 since November. I really don't know what the cause of the shortage of bulk 22 is unless factories are concentrating on the handgun cartridges and trying to produce the higher profit items.

No camping after all. I went into Mtn. Grove Walmart while there on business and low and behold they had about 15 bricks of .22 and I bought 2. Federal 14.$$ per brick and that is all I could afford now. They didn't think it would last til the end of the day.

Gents:

As fascinating as this thread is, how in the world did it end up i the "General Angling Discussion" section? There are other places on the forum for this topic. Unless of course the guy who started it went to his local gun shop to buy some 9mm pistol ammo in order to go shoot some carp or something...

As I said once earlier, I am sorry that I posted under the wrong thread. No I am not shooting carp. Also I am not stocking up on ammo. It started when I wanted to go to the shooting range and heard this from a couple of gun shops and retail store about the ammo sales. I just wanted some thoughts.

BTW, it is not the gun that kills people, but the person behind the gun. If guns where outlawed then it the crooks would still have theirs and you couldn't defend yourself or hunt game. Criminals would just walk in you house (knowing that your gun was taken away) and take what they want and you could do nothing about it. Maybe even get shoot. Why don't we say knifes kill people too, then we can outlaw them also. Now try and fillet a fish.

Once again, I am sorry for the 3rd and last time for posting this in the wrong topic. I am not perfect and I am not a trouble maker. Just wanted some thoughts.

FYI, I'll never post on this forum again. I thought everybody is welcome here even if your not perfect. It looks too me this forum is a click.

TS, Don't get offended and leave Dude. You posted a very popular topic where you thought it would be seen easiest. If someone doesn't like WHERE it's posted... who cares. If it was that big of a deal I'm sure Phil could have moved it.

Sensitivity and Political correctness isn't a requirement here....at least not with ME. Speak your mind, act as you would among friends and don't be made to feel ashamed of what you think, or why you think it. No matter the topic there will be those who feel the same, and others that feel differently. We just share this space because of a similar interest. So don't go...k?

The other point is the 2nd Amendment has absolutely nothing to do with hunting.

The founding fathers thought it was important. It's the second amendment of the constitution, the first is the right of free speech.

Such a simple concept, I have no clue as to why it alludes so many. No mention of hunting. No mention of target practice. No mention of collecting. No mention of what may be considered as "reasonable" restrictions. No mention of what "arms" are allowed.

A someone above wrote, we had just won our freedom from an oppressive government, by force!!!! The framers were well aware that this country could also become oppressive and the whole purpose of the Bill of Rights was their way of limiting what the government could do to us. If, and I repeat "if", we have no way to protect those "inalienable rights", then history has repeatedly shown we will lose all of them.

I am not a gun nut.

I am former military & law enforcement.

Whether, what, or if I own guns is unknown to anyone but me.

I am not a member of the NRA (I would if they promised to never contact me).

I am an American, who still believes I have a right to defend my "inalienable rights".

(Inalienable)
