I've broken my Sage a couple of times, yep, a couple. I just take the whole rod back to where I bought it, in its original tube, and 4-6 weeks(plus or minus, it seems like an eternity) later I get a whole new piece. I usually have to pay $12 or so for shipping.

I'm sure that Sage has an excellent warranty service. I own 3 sage rods and have never had to use the warranty. I'm here to tell you about the durability of a sage rod. I fish 50 plus days a year and always have. My original sage rp was abused for 17 years before I retired it. I have a sage xp that has been fished equally as hard for the last 9 years. My other xp is only used at night. Buy a sage, treat it like a quality tool, and it will perform flawlessly for years. If you do something stupid, like a car door, I'm sure that sage will take care of you.

I bought a 9 ft Sage Launch and broke the tip off in my car door a year ago. I took it to the shop with my case and dropped it off. They mailed it for me and Sage could not repair the rod for me, so they replaced it with a brand new rod. I paid $14 for shipping and was very happy. Sage is awesome.

4 to 6 WEEKS ? :o Considering the cost, and reputation of Sage I find that slightly....No, Entirely unacceptable.

I've had similar dealings with St.Croix, 3 different times within the last 4-5 years and have always gotten my replacement between 6-8 working days from the date I sent it off.

Yeah, I can't see 4-6 weeks being a part of Sage... They are very responsive and usually very quick to deal with warranty. I can assure you the warranty is the best you'll get... Some may equal, but nobody has a better warranty...

FW and TB, I was only telling my story. I think the shop I deal with waits until they get a few rods to send back all at once to save everyone on shipping costs (that's probably not a regulation Sage response time). I've never dealt with Sage directly. Although I feel they have always been very good to me. I've had my 5wt since 2000 and they have never questioned me on any warranty issue. In fact if they no longer make the rod I own(albeit broken), I have gotten an upgrade. The folks at Sage have my utmost respect. I do not expect a 5-7 working day turn around, especially if the issue is uh, not exactly fishing related. ;)

Just my opinion. That is all that was asked I believe.... and no, my feelings aren't hurt, I don't have any. :D

I have never broken a rod, yet. But I know some people who have had broken theirs and they cant say more about Sage and how they handled it. I know that when I break one of my Sage rods, I hope it will be the same.
