Flysmallie Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Thanks for everyone's support. I would like to start night fishing around November 12 and am game for fishing anytime after that through whenever. Monday nights through Wednesday evening are bad, but any other time I am open if I can learn anything. I honestly will fish whenever after that day. Night, day, whenever I can learn anything. If you are going... I would like to go with you. I just want to fish. Hey Chris, I just started a new thread in the Roaring River section. We usually have a small group that gets together and fishes together on the opening day of Catch and Release season. This year it will be on Friday, November 13th. I will be heading down early that morning from Springfield. Let me know if you would like to catch a ride down with me. I'm probably not the best guy to teach you about trout fishing but I bet I could help you get as few hooked. Plus there will be some very good fly fisherman there and they are always willing to lend a hand.

Wheatenheimer Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Good deal. I sent you a PM back. You will have a great time. Provided the two of you can contain your "mancrush"...........I would be willing to man the wheel in my vintage AMC 4WD (that is if Ronnie takes care of the fuel charges!) We can carry 5 large men and gear if anyone else wants to jump in. Kevin
Greg Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Chris I'm in Springfield too. It's really a good place to be for MO trout fishing. You may already know all this but you have Taneycomo, Roaring River, and Bennett Spring all an hour or less away. Then you have Montauk (and the upper Current), North Fork of the White, Norfork (arkansas), and the White (arkansas) - all 2 hours or less from you. Plus Crane Creek is about 30 minutes. Lots of great choices. Late fall and winter is actually a great time to fish some of those areas too. I especially like the trout parks during the winter. I was actually going to call you to see if you wanted to ride down with us. I can cover the fuel charges as always. The only thing is I have to be back in Springfield by 5pm. But that should give us more than enough time to eat, fish, eat, push Dano in the water, and fish some more.

So I got my work schedule for the next few months and I have the day off for RR. I'm sure we can make it back by 5P. Give me shout and we'll iron out the details. Chris, I look forward to meeting you..........somewhere around Aurora, you will propably be asking yourself what you have gotten yourself into riding with this group! Kevin

I bet he thinks we are a couple of idiots before we even get out of the city limits. By the time we reach Aurora he will probably have jumped out of the car. Chris, I still need to call you. Sorry I was going to do it this weekend and things didn't go as planned.

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys also, and getting excited about the trip. No worries on the phone call, there is still plenty of time before we leave.
