abkeenan Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 If you could only use 3 or 4 colors of stickbaits and your life depended on it what would you guys on the Rock choose to throw? I am getting ready to paint my pointer 100 blanks and could use some suggestions by you locals/guys that fish TR regularly. Dont want to waste time, $ and effort on useless color schemes. Thanks. -Brett

gitnby Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Also, make sure you find pictures of the new breed of boater we now have on Table rock! You now, the ones with the cigarette boats and the ocean-going cruisers? Best color for them? CLOWN !

To have a true friend is wonderful, to have a true friend who fishes with you....... priceless
Whack'emGood Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 It doesn't matter what color my stickbaits are... they stay in a box in the back of my tackle storage compartment... Stickbaits... YUCK! Seriously though... I always thought they should look as close to the predominant baitfish (shad in TR) that lives in the lake you are fishing. Find a dying floater and examine him... and viola! Of course... I am a terrible stickbait fisherman, so you probably shouldn't listen to my advice. Whack'em "Success builds confidence, and you have to learn to trust your instincts and forget about fishing the way a tournament is supposed to be won. I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)

Hopefully they're SPs.
abkeenan Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 yes my mistake, they are pointer 100 sp knockoff jerkbaits.
gitnby Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 which adds even more credence to my earlier post about the big boats. "Clown Jerkbaits" is my new name for them! (At least that's cleaner than what I actually yell at them as my trolling motor spins 3 feet out of the water!)
eric1978 Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 This is what the actual LC Pointer "Table Rock Shad" color looks like. Anything similar to this would surely work.
Fly_Guy Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 You asked for guys who fish regularly - I was out once this past year, but caught several smallmouth on the Rebel Black/Silver jerkbait.
