brownieman Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Stickbaits, cranks, flies, whatever...match the hatch. IMO live shad are the very best...if you don't fish bait duplicate it best you can. I've experimented somewhat on giving artificials scent...if it's not live would be nice if it would at least smell like it is, ya know. later on My friends say I'm a douche bag ?? dtrs5kprs Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Hard to beat: Norman Flake...good starter color T-Rock Shad...also a good starter color Chartreuse Shad (a bit more challenging due to the chart stripe and the color blends required) Clown requires "foiling", little farther down the path of experience, but fun.
Members Bullcreek Posted October 22, 2009 Members Posted October 22, 2009 This is what the actual LC Pointer "Table Rock Shad" color looks like. Anything similar to this would surely work. Eric, That color is actually American Shad. Table Rock Shad has a purple back and somewhat faded chartreuse sides. The american shad and aurora black are probably my two favorite colors to throw.
Wayne SW/MO Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Some blue and orange, a shad, and a bright white with a dusty back. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

troutgnat Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Gentlemen, There is a color of Smithwick Roque out there I believe maybe called "Sour Grape". It is purple fading into darker back, goldish sides fading into a white belly. Uh, Can I say........DEADLY!!!! I have caught fish all over on this color. In clear to murky water. Some stained water and it is the Man! Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. I just keep going to class!"
dtrs5kprs Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 that color is dynamite up the Kings in the spring...started making in 2003 by using chartreuse foil on the sides, purple back. Mine has a little more color and a little more flash, but both work great. Used a pic of it for my avatar for a while.
motoman Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 A bit off topic, but I like the idea on the other stickbait thread of painting some of them belly up! - I would agree with the Sour Grape color, Aurora Blue and a Ghost Minnow color. - Oh wait, that won't work, the pointer is asymetrical. - dtrs, post a pic of the chartreuse foil with purple back you conjured up, that sounds awesome! (and I don't recall it's appearance when it was in your avatar)
brownieman Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Without a doubt in my book...white bellys are bar none the very best. A little touch of red around the gills doesn't hurt anything either. later on...like it's not late enouph right now, lol My friends say I'm a douche bag ?? Avatar...mister brownie bm <><
Members JimmyBaja Posted October 25, 2009 Members Posted October 25, 2009 Also, make sure you find pictures of the new breed of boater we now have on Table rock! You now, the ones with the cigarette boats and the ocean-going cruisers? Best color for them? CLOWN ! Hey!! I resemble that..... I really try to give you guys a lot of water between me and my boat. I think lurking on here has improved my boating etiquette. I know there are lots of ways to enjoy the lake.
