eric1978 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Yeah, that's a little spooky. Perfect for Halloween. Reminds me of that Creepshow episode with the cockroaches. Anyone???
Bubbas Dad Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Symbolic meaning of the Ladybug: Perhaps best known as an emblem of luck. When a Ladybug lands on you, it is said your wish will come true. Asian traditions hold to the belief that if caught and then released, the Ladybug will faithfully fly to your true love and whisper your name in his/her ear. Upon hearing the Ladybug’s message your true love will hurry his/her way to your side. In Ireland, the Ladybug is said to be a symbol of protection I think it could be your lucky day.

I keep getting reminded by my girlfriend that "THEY AREN'T LADYBUGS.....They are Japanese beetles". They seem to migrate to the Southwest corners of both my house, and my shop. I have to vaccum them up every day or so.
eric1978 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 I keep getting reminded by my girlfriend that "THEY AREN'T LADYBUGS.....They are Japanese beetles". My neighbor said that, too. But then I heard the weather lady on channel 5 say they were ladybugs. Of course, she's an idiot, so who knows?
fishinwrench Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I heard the weather lady on channel 5 say they were ladybugs Ok, lets see: Sweet and familiar girlfriend vs Hot but idiotic weather lady ? Hmmm, darn ! I dunno man, How many towels ya got ?
Al Agnew Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Weather people are supposedly meteorologists, not biologists... They ARE Japanese beetles, an invasive species that have made native ladybug populations decline. I think I read that they were intentionally imported to help "control" aphid populations--the native ladybugs do that, but were just not abundant enough for the big time horticulturalists, so they imported a species that is known to reproduce in large numbers. Can you say "willful ignorance" here? I hate the things. They stink. They bite. They love to show up in large numbers in houses this time of year.
brownieman Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I feel a task force commin on, lol. OK, there has to be a 'Symbolic Meaning' about the Japanese Beetles....or could there be a hybrid ? Appears there's lots of work to get done! I got a few towels I'll pitch in...I don't think anyone that wears em on their head should be allowed in on this one though and no, I aint predjudice...just leary, lol. later on darn Al...more illegal aliens, what next...us superior humans...ah, never mind..
