FishinCricket Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 So when do I get to join Team Eric? You got a mechanic (and apparently a douchebag?), why not a car salesman? I'd looove to be a product tester... cricket.c21.com
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 A trailer will affect the fall and should slow it down. Most of are rocky rivers don't really require a weedguard. That's just one of those things that we become accustomed to. Don't get me wrong, I'm as guilty as the next, but Ollie on this board doesn't use a trailer or a guard and has cleaned my plow more than I care to admit. I think while you're experimenting with jigs you should try adjusting the fall rate using hair. A slow falling jig can be a killer. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

We could really use some white zonked squirrel hair at the moment.

If you find some that is pure white let me know and I will buy it. Try some of the smaller rabbit strips.

I haven't found any either Ronnie...I guess they don't make it, but why? I only looked at BPS and I thought maybe they just didn't have it. The rabbit strips just look like the hair would fall out real easy. I was gonna try it for spinnerbait trailers anyway so I guess it wouldn't matter if all the hair fell out. Guess I'll try some chamois cut into curly tail shapes instead. Where do you get chamois...don't think I saw any at BPS?

If your wife only knew... you must be ashamed of your body.. lol "if your wife only knew".. Where do you think I was planning on getting the bleached pubic hair from? Bwah ha ha wait, you don't think it would work? Now I'm gonna hafta try it just to see.. cricket.c21.com

I was told that they could not dye it pure white, something to do with the type of hair. The rabbit hair will not fall out. Yes you can pluck it out fairly easy but trust me it will stay on the skin as well as the squirrel. Chamois will work. You can get it at a lot of craft stores (which is also a good source for a lot of things that can be used for tying) or a specialty leather store.
fishinwrench Posted November 9, 2009 Author Posted November 9, 2009 Go with White Mink strips. Thicker, shorter, and tougher than rabbit, and readily located.
