FishinCricket Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Any lure of some type of fabric or feather material that is Permanantly attached to a single hook.. No soft plastics is the only other pertinant stipulation I can think of.. Kastmaster with single hook fly? Ok (simple single hook with no fabric is not ok) maribou? Ok, regardless of size (you can attempt a 5 lb maribou cast if you want, but anything over about 1/16th ounce and your more likely to knock em out than you are to entice them to strike) mepps spinner with single hook? Ok Trout magnet plastic lure on weighted jighead? NOT OK As a tip: hit the suzy hole with that lil maribou... I am quoting this to point out that I edited the portions in bold to include new information that I have recieved that I believe to be accurate. cricket.c21.com

Wayne SW/MO Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 I've never found the winter conditions any different than the summer condition, except for the obvious, the crowds. The water temp doesn't change and the food source doesn't change drastically either. These are after all hatchery fish. They started this back in the early 80's not for your enjoyment, but to avoid feeding the fish through the winter. With that many fish in the stream they felt they could charge a fee and not worry about minimal losses. That at least is the story I got back then. Don't forget that Smallies and Goggle Eye can't be kept either, even though some try. Turn them in! Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Gavin Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Should be a lot of folks down there this weekend...Probably 75 or more from Ozark Fly Fishers alone on Saturday...probably a few less on Friday and Sunday. I've always done well with small cream midges the few times that I've visited in November...usually a size 22. Cheers.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I'm headed down Friday morning. Leaving Saturday afternoon. Sleeping in the Yukon Motel. SIO3
