Thom Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 At this time I am going to bow out I have no time. Plus since the sale of the shop all of my Tying stuff is in a pile in the garage. Next time I promise If no one has volunteered I will take the vacated #12 spot. Let me know so I can get started. Was lots of fun last year. Thom Thom Harvengt

jjtroutbum Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I would hope all would welcome such a great offer of generosity Thom. Cool pattern BTW. Terry Beeson Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I second that motion... Fox has some pretty neat patterns for sure... Thom Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Ronnie: I will be tying Fox Statler HPU Bright eyed shiner or a variation thereof in place of Michaels offering. Hope to get started this week end. Thom The above is the idea that I am working from and the following is the prototype that I am tying. I have changed the wing flash a bit (three colors with black band marking) and added a bit of maribou to the center for movement and a wrap of chartuce glitter around the dumbell. It is tied on a #2 worm hook with a 1/8 oz dumbell. The picture is of the same fly ... the top is upside down and the bottom is the way it will actually fish ---> HPU Hook point up. I am naming it the QNT SHINER OR the one letter better fly. I will start full production this week. The only problem is with attaching the eyes to the dumbell. They don't seem to obvious as eyes but I am told that they do in the water? humm ... hope so but time is running out and I got a late start due to circumstances. The eyes can be easily changed later if necessary. Thom Thom Harvengt
Gavin Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Looks good Thom. I got my popper heads machined up last weekend....Glued em on the hooks last night, added the eyeballs, and started tailing. Just need to finish up the tails and add some more rubber legs.....Should have em ready to mail later this week.
zsmith62 Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Just got back from sending mine out... Man, that post office was crazy, I spent any where from 20 to 30 minutes just waiting in line, and then got to deal with that holiday shopping traffic...good times Zach Smith
RSBreth Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I was (am) doing a hair jig swap over at RiverSmallies or I would have got in on this one. I was going to tie something really outrageous, too. Next time.
Gavin Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Almost done...need to glue the legs so they dont pull out and trim them up but thats it..Were should I send them?
Flysmallie Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 I have received Zach's spinnerbaits. They look really good. I thought I had sent my address to everyone but after JJ and Gavin have pm'd me it obvious that something went wrong. So if you haven't received a PM with my address then let me know and I will get it to you. Terry I will be by this week to get yours.
