Gavin Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Nice looking reel...I'm not sure what its worth...but I'd check the completed auction listings on Ebay for reels in similar condition..3.5" diameter...should hold a 5 or a 6wt. It would look great on an old Granger, Heddon, or Phillipson. Cheers.
Brian K. Shaffer Posted December 12, 2009 Author Posted December 12, 2009 Good looking reel. Check the bottom of the box. The last 2 digits are the ' born on ' date. Brian K. Shaffer Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 So did you sell that Sal-Trout ? I would like it. PM me. Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
drew03cmc Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 The Sal Trout is a hell of a nice reel. The click is strong, but it has a light enough start up to fish 6# tippet in faster water and let the fish run. They will hold a WF6F Orvis Clearwater and 100 yds of 20# dacron. I had a Retro, but would rather have had the original model. Andy
Brian K. Shaffer Posted January 19, 2010 Author Posted January 19, 2010 Thats exaclty how my Pflueger Gem is. It is in the pictures with a thumbscrew where the sliding horeshoe latch should be. drew03cmc Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 That horseshoe latch is just gorgeous! Andy
