Good luck to you. I'm thinking about trolling some rattle traps and maybe try out a figure 8 or two. Can't wait to see the looks I get from other boats lol.

This definitely makes me want to go fish for some Muskies. But would it also be worth a shot to try for hybrids? Are they still being stocked?

I don't think so, but I could be wrong...at least they don't advertise if they do, but several years ago I saw a guy catch on out of lake 24 and it was small...might have been a white bass though...

Ok so I keep hearing all these reports of Muskies biting bass and crappie lures but does anyone have success with actual Muskie lures? I have some pretty nice buck tail spinners and a few oversized jerkbaits that worked well on Muskies up north. Would these be worth a shot or should I stick to bass lures?

Like I said before, I got a nice follow last year or whenever it was from a HUGE bucktail fly that I tied specifically for muskie. I guess water temps are about right that I need to go out and try again.

I also saw on MDC's facebook page how they rear the muskie, and they feed them rosey reds, which are those little pinkish/yellow minnow things you buy at the pet stores. So I tied this..

in hopes that maybe the smaller fish would see it and nom it on down. no luck with muskie but the one time I got out to fish it a largemouth crushed it with a vengeance!

Caught this one yesterday morning on a swimmin minnow while crappie fishing. That was a first for me! Have seen a few crappie in that lake with large scars on them.

about 20 yards out from the jetty closest to the dam. Came out of a brush pile. I released him quickly and unharmed..he swam off.

Cool!! They seem to congregate more down on the end closet to the dam. When the lake was super low last year you could see all the brush piles, so that makes sense.
