Fished the main lake area Monday. Caught a fair number of fish with decent size on jigs in the main lake. Falling water seems to have killed my creek bite. Most of the fish are coming from 20-35 foot of water, but some are in 10-15 grabbing the jig on the initial drop.

Match the jig color to the water color. I'm sure whatever you throw will work. The bite is there. Some days you'll catch about a fish an hour other days you'll catch 2-3 fish an hour.

Does anyone know what the armada of boats fishing main lake flats are fishing for? Anyone in the fleet catching fish?

I hear the walleye are biting, that would be my guess as to what they are fishing for.

I've been reporting guys catching whites, walleye, striper and yellow perch for a week or more now on the flats in 33-39 feet of water jigging spoons. I fished the flat in sight on Lead Hill Marina a couple of weeks ago and did real well. Most times, these guys are limiting on whites (25 in Ark) every time out.

I am hearing reports of real good size walleyes & bass being caught real shallow on stickbaits as well as deeper fish coming on leadcore(30-50fow) Last time I was out(12/20) the spoon bite (40-60') had really slowed down. A couple of days later a friend of mine caught a 8lb & 5lb walleye + some real nice size bass up next to the bank on stickbaits.
