jeb Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I only fished around the Prarire Creek Marina area last night, but no ice anywhere up this way. That could easily change in the next few days, though. Brrrr! John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Members fishofexcellence Posted January 8, 2010 Members Posted January 8, 2010 Anybody have any water temps for Praire,Horseshoe, Hickory, or Dam Area ? Hoping to get the boat back in the water as soon as I can get off mountain. Looks like we have some good days coming next week.
Donna G Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Jan. 1 at the Polar Bear it was 42-46 degrees where we fished - Prairie Creek up a little ways. Hubby went back this week before it got stupid cold and fished 41 degree water same general area. He figures it has probably dropped to the high 30's now. Think we are headed to LOZ next weekend. If we're going to fish frigid might as well practice. First Central Pro-Am is LOZ this year March 6-7. Normally goes to Beaver first then LOZ in April. Beaver is April 3-4 this year. Headed to the boat and tackle show in Joplin tomorrow. It's indoors. See below. = = = = You get free admission and can talk with professional anglers Denny Brauer and Randy Blaukat along with other local and regional fishing experts this weekend at the Bill’s Marine Boat Show in Joplin today, Friday January 8th and Saturday January 9th. jeb Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 It was still at 44 degrees around Prarire Thursday. Planning on hitting it again tomorrow, so will see if how much it changed. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
bobber Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 .........this is what it looks like!! <*)))))))>< * AMERICAN CANOE ASSOCIATION CERTIFIED CANOE, and SWIFT WATER RESCUE INSTRUCTOR.*
Hogfan Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 We were out that way this evening and took some photos around the Hwy 412 bridge. If you get out and listen it almost sounds alive with all the sounds the ice makes.
jeb Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Looks like I'll have to stay down lake today! Prarire Creek cove is frozen all the way across way up towards the creek, and a few feet of ice out from the sides in spots. But it melted off a bit yesterday, and I'm looking forward to getting out there today! John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Quillback Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 So Jeb did you go? Yesterday was a little warmer, but not warm enough for me to even think about it.
jeb Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Yes, I went. Was out from about 10-4. It was actually pretty darn nice. Fished quite a bit of the time with no gloves, and was comfortable. Never even lit the propane heater. No ice anywhere in the Prarire Creek area. I was going to run down lake to the Van Hollow/Rocky Branch area, but my depth finder was showing massive amounts of fish near home, so I stayed put. Fishing was pretty slow, though. BTW, Cabelas brand 6# flouro sucks on spinning reels. Spent way too much time messing with tangles from that. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
