Quillback Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 97, I'll keep that in mind. There's a guy that sells the pre-rapala wiggle warts on Ebay, he paints them with what he calls a "Spring Craw" pattern, they get bid way up, I've seen them go for $30 each.
Quillback Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Speaking of which, he happens to have some listed, it doesnot look like a hot pattern to me, but the guy seems to always get a good price for them. http://cgi.ebay.com/4-Pre-Rapala-Storm-Wiggle-Wart-In-Bandit-Spring-Craw_W0QQitemZ300393248763QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item45f0d537fb
97procraft Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I am wondering how you now that they are pre-rapala baits. The only way I was told to tell the difference was if it had wiggle wart painted under the bill. After repainting the bait that will not be there. Is there any other way to find out. If you look at his detailed sales, he sells a lot of Pre-rapala baits. I didn't think that there were that many left.
Quillback Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Maybe he bought a bunch before Rapala took over, I have seen boards posts where guys have said they went out and loaded up on the pre-Rapala warts. There are some folks out there that really love those warts. You can still get the pre-Rapala warts on Ebay, but the popular colors get bid up pretty high. I'm suprised Rapala does not just copy the old manufacturing method for warts and use the old paint styles, they could label them "classic" warts, I would think they could sell quite a few. Here's another link to an Ebay wart auction, 3 USED classic warts, already at $36.00 with several days to go. http://cgi.ebay.com/3-OLD-STOCK-STORM-WIGGLE-WARTS-3-8-oz-V209-CRAWDAD_W0QQitemZ320483795226QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4a9e52a11a
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I thought the bill was separate on the Rapala warts. They're making the old warts again, but maybe some don't realize that, or they are still different? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
abkeenan Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 procraft97 i sent you a PM about possibly having some baits done. -Brett
Members moduck38834 Posted February 5, 2010 Members Posted February 5, 2010 Not cheap, but cheaper than you'd expect... Some friends have started a new biz locally (in Springfield), selling new and closeout outdoor gear on the web. They currently have a pretty good selection of Megabass hardbaits at the lowest price available anywhere, and if you buy 3 or more, shipping is free: http://www.sportsmansfactoryoutlet.com/servlet/the-Fishing-Gear-%26-Equipment-cln-Fishing-Lures-%26-Baits-cln-Hardbaits/Categories As I said, Megabass isn't cheap, but if you like 'em and you're looking for a great deal, there it is. "Reasonable" is a relative term... So everyone knows----the MegaBass baits that are in stock are brand new in package suspending(slow float) Vision 110's. And if you are local and want to pick them up, you can. Just need to make sure to let them know---not everyone wants to buy 3 ya know.

Not trying to spam, but the images of the Vision 110's have been updated showing a color chart. Noticed that these were (I think) $34 at Fin and Feather if I remember right(don't hold me to that and not trying to bash them either---they are great guys)......here's the fetch for you guys that may be interested. Btw, great paint jobs....you have a true talent. And the guys are right, you should solicit your services to some of the pros. I know I talked to a guy yesterday that bought 20 of the MegaBass baits and was having several custom painted.....so, the pro's will pay the money for great paint jobs....been proven over and over again.
