Hate to interrupt the "private boat on lake" discussion but has anyone been to Busch in the past couple days? Is there water or ice? Last pic posted by Eric was pretty dismal showing the 5-gal bucket brigade on the ice!

Fishing on any pond or subdivision lake without permission is trespassing. As adults don't you know better? What if was your pond and you paid to stock it. Would you chase people off and call the sheriff? I would rather see people on 5 gallon buckets at public lakes stocked for the purpose of allowing legal fisher persons an opportunity without tresspassing.

Haven't been out in a few days. Pat was there I think Friday and he said it was the same ol' story....lots of ice and anglers, very little room to fish. I gotta imagine it hasn't improved since then and won't be improving anytime soon.

I made a trip out there Saturday. I had never been out there for "trout" season.. Lots of ICE.. limited spots to fish and LOTS of people.. 31 has some of the lake open and other slots that people created.. Saw a few fish caught.. Power bait and meal worms.. We spent about 15 minutes there and then decided to drive around the area rather than mess with fishing.

Went out to 28 today to check out the slaughter, and yep, it was underway. post-9473-126514172704_thumb.jpg

I don't want to be controversial, but just curious. Do you guys look at the opening day at the Trout Parks as the slaughter?

Real men go propless!

yes... fishing is just secondary to getting away to spend time with friends.

Sure, it's a slaughter. But that doesn't mean it really bothers me...those fish will be replaced with a quickness. It's the people that act like they HAVE to be there when it opens and HAVE to take a limit home that make me scratch my head. Who likes fishing in crowds? And don't they sell fish at the grocery store? Last I heard, trout was pretty cheap. I just don't get the sense of urgency some people are struck with.

'Opening Day' is a tradition to many and always draws a large crowd. I have never had the desire to participate but I can't say anything negative since I haven't ever participated. Although I could never handle the elbow to elbow fishing. I like my space and like to move about. As for those people that act like they 'must' harvest a limit no matter what, I couldn't agree with you anymore. There are definitely some at Busch. I used to get aggravated by their antics but now I just pack up and leave. It's never going to change and just not worth the aggravation. For me there is always another day.

I think a guy should do whatever the hell he wants as far as the opening day at trout parks and Busch.

It's just not something I'm gonna take part in anytime soon.
