No pink thong then? I was looking forward to putting on Girls Gone Wild- The Bennett Springs Edition

I wonder if they'll move the webcams to the Niangua mainstem Memorial Day weekend. That may be worth watching :D

I am responding in an unofficial capacity, but just wanted to ease any concerns on this webcam...

The camera was installed for marketing purposes and as a convenience to fisherman. The park was always getting calls, especially after heavy rains, inquiring on the stream conditions or flooding in the park. The ability to pull up the webcam, and see crowd conditions, or check the stream conditions, weather conditions, then decide if it's time for some fishing is the goal here.

Nothing else.

The camera is not being used for surveillance or enforcement, it is provided as a service to you. There are not other cameras hiding in the woods, campgrounds, etc.

Hopefully in the next couple of months, you will be able to enjoy free Wi-Fi in the lower campgrounds.

The picture quality you see is what is available. There is not recording equipment in the hatchery, no CSI room in the basement, just lots of eggs and trout.

If you like this service, it may be offered at other trout parks at some point.

For those of you that don't like to be watched, have you ever thought about the guy standing next to you? Could very well be an agent in "plain clothes". <_<

I have witnessed the agents at work, setting in their unmarked cars and trucks with their binoculars. Witnessed them get out, grab a rod and start fishing. Eventually working their way over to a violator. Then without drawying any attention, escort the violator to their car and sign them up.

If they are working "under cover" you usually don't have a clue.

Truth was known I think NoLuck is one of em. They sent him out to the west so that he can give his cover a break!!! :goodjob: (Just kidding)

Keep an eye on the camera Rich around the last week of March, I'll be stripping just above the dam. If you can't see it I will be slinging my "special" Crackleback!!

That is what I thought it was for and I like the idea and the concept. Any discussion's about an underwater camera? Not necessarily in any area that would give away a lunker's hiding place, but I think it would be a good marketing tool and it would nice to look at a few fish when I am stuck at work. I know ESPN has an a link to an underwater bass cam. I would be in favor of other live cams at other trout parks as well.

I think it should end at the trout parks though....nothing outside of the boundaries.

now how in the world are we conspiracy theorists supposed to take this newly found insight?

Are you just trying to throw us off the "scent", so to speak?

Berry, berry sneaky sir.. You may have won the battle, but you CANNOT win the war! As soon as we get the politics in the US sorted out, we're coming for you..

I think an underwater camera would be pretty cool- several states have cameras on their fish ladders, and you can watch salmon/shad/striped bass/whatever move through them. It's pretty cool. I'm not sure what maintenance would be involved (scraping the lens of algae, etc?), and the potential for damage during floods and other events. Cool idea though.

This webcam is a pilot project, actual cost was less than 2k, the underwater camera would be very cool, but at around 10k, no one is going to sign off on that. Maybe some companies would like to contribute. Just a thought since the revenue stream is tight, a little advertising logo in the corner instead of the DNR logo, as long as they kick in some

money to improve things in the park it's located at ??

Maybe the advertising logo could change hourly through out the day to keep the advertising cost's to a minimum for each company or organization that would chip in. It might be easier for the local tackle shops to get involved. The companies could sign up for specified amount of time each day for the whole year.
