Crane Report 3/3

Fished Crane today at the elusive dairy farm access. Brought 14 to hand .... missed twice as many. All fish caught on #16 tan elk hair caddis. Good caddis hatch in the late morning through early afternoon. Tons of little fish in the creek. Can't seem to get anything bigger than 8-9" though. Most in 5-6" range. Some porn pics below. PC

Wow! you snagged a 5" rainbow in the eye ball.......guess it proves that you werent at the bar all day, but....do you really need a picture of any of those fish, or even a report? Crane seems to be the new Bennett...Thats for sure.

Gavin, I know where your coming from. It's all that "wild McCloud" hype man. It's being churned into a mini-Patagonia, even the Water Moccasin propaganda can't keep'em away.

Once everyone scratches the itch they'll ease up on it I think. I know if I lived closer I could certainly piss an afternoon away catching dinks on drys with a 3wt.

if I had a PC I could post pics (or video) from I would gladly post a few pics and videos of crane creek trout in the 10-15 inch area.. Would that be better, lil buddy?

Your right about one thing, I wouldn't have had near as much fun being elbow to elbow with all the goofs at Bennett that day.. lol

I fished Crane on Sunday at the Lower Access area. I was the only fisherman which was sweet. There was anice little cinnamon caddis size 16-18. I used a #16 Royal Stimi with a Evel Weevil dropper and caught about 12 fish in a few hrs. No real size but all sweet wild mcLouds. The water flows were perfect.
