Members Cad Posted March 9, 2010 Members Posted March 9, 2010 Now that the whites are starting to run, anyone have any suggestions for flies to use for them? Cad
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 9, 2010 Author Root Admin Posted March 9, 2010 Clousers, woolies and small jigs always work for me.
Fly_Guy Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Was there this am - got there at a little after 6, and left before 7, with 5 whites, and several more strikes. Gulp minnows. Caught a super fat kentucky as well. All whites were small, but accidentally snagged a biggun - but got off. Sun came out, and bite stopped momentarily, and I have to work today anyway. But I was just in a good mood cause I finally caught a few. Makes work today more bearable.
mrgungho Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 got two phone calls this morning also lilley. James is hot and packed this weekend. White blue and purble swimming minnows and white roostertails. one call said they limited out by 9 this morning. Most were a little down from blunks, but im sure they are almost everywhere... I'm new to the area and I am trying to find Blunk Hole on a map somewhere but I can't see it..can you give me any info on where this is/how to access it please? I see Cox Memorial Access and Kerr...is this it? "Some go to church and think about fishing, others go fishing and think about God."

I found it. Very cool. I will be going there all next week after work because of the time change it should be perfect to get down there from Springfield and get settled in for the sunset/early night bite. Can't wait. On a different spot...I went out to Slough Hollow past Whistle Pipes last Sat. and had no luck at all until about 20 minutes after sunset and then caught 2 Walleys..one was about 17" and the other around 15" .. I was disappointed to say the least. Not a single white. I was using purple sparkle swimming minnows on 1/8oz jughead and white 1/4oz rooster tail. I caught the Walleye using the 1/4 oz white rooster tail and actually caught the other one on a Norman Deep Little N in Splaterbass. Super slow retrieve on both. Nice little place down there. Anyways, thanks!! "Some go to church and think about fishing, others go fishing and think about God."
Members timr0123 Posted March 17, 2010 Members Posted March 17, 2010 Great fish. We are heading down in the morning. Is there enough water and a good enough boat ramp at Blunks for a 20' bass boat?
Jason Essary Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Went just below blunks this morning. 2 whites in an hour. they are there but the cold snap sure slowed the bite. Good luck in the morning, after a day or two of warm sunshine they will turn on again. Might be good down there on Friday, but the weather this weekend is gonna slow it down again. Did you see any snaggers that far up? A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!!
