I was thinking of wrapping my front seat post with flourescent orange marking tape. I dont really think I want to wear a matching cap.A ribbon would get shredded unless it was wrapped tightly.I think any bright color would work, maybe something removeable so if you are on different water you would not be mistaken for a different club ,etc.

Could start with something simple and inexpensive and move to something later.

Eric, wrong kind of attention. But Im with everyone else. Recently fished right next to anouther member, could have casted into his boat. Did not know until a day or so later. I like the idea of colored tape on the front seat post and on the trolling motor.

Have fished similar tournaments, where you put a ribbon on the trolling motor, and verify catch then release.

I won't wear a yellow hat,or clothes. Attracts the bugs...big time.

Any colored ribbon should work. I've got rolls of orange.

Phil - I agree with starting out simple and see where it goes. Phil, would you be willing to dispense strips of orange ribbons to members?

Bill P. - If you have rolls of orange, would you be willing to donate them and take them to Phil's place?

I have the Ozark Anglers magnetic sticker on my truck, but we need something on the water.

Some do not use a butt seat, but we all have trolling motors, so I would lean to the trolling motor ribbon.

EP - No pink and no apples, please!

I really don't care for colored hats. It does attract bugs and I like white to reflect the heat of the summer.

Let's see where it goes. If it works and we like it, then we can maybe change to yellow and consider inscriptions.

If Phil and Bill P. agree, we can go from there.

Ribbon per say would sun fade quickly. A polyester fabric would work as it doesnt sun fade. I dont know how visable it would be hanging off the trolling motor. All good ideas, just brain storming. Maybe yellow wetsuits! :D

Haha...

It would be nice to know who I am cussing under my breath when a boat doesn't consider courtesy as their wake pounds my boat. Or when I am working an area and somebody stops to fish ahead of me on the same shoreline.

It would also be nice to know who I am laughing at as I watch people out there zig zagging all over the place because they don't have a clue where to start fishing. Or when I see someone beating brush when the water is 40 degrees.

I am playing....

The social attribute of being identified might not be worth it after you have had a few boats run up on you because of those who want to introduce themselves. I can see how it could be of a benefit at the ramps though.

I used to have an OAF sticker on my last boat but when I switched boats I couldn't exactly switch the sticker. Might I suggest establishing "OAF outings" where a member can attend if they chose. A simple date and time to gather at a particular ramp perhaps. After the initial introduction there wouldn't be a need to have ribbons. You will simply know your new buddy's boat.

Of course, if the gathering was on a weekend I wouldn't attend. Ramps are too busy for my liking on weekends.

You can't miss my boat though. I run a blue deep V aluminum and my name is right on the side of it.
