Bill Babler Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 This time of the year, it has been and I guess will continue to be somewhat of a problem. Guy's and Gal's, clients and those that just need a little more lake information and may want to book a trip, here is what I got goin. First. Do not under any circumstances leave me a voice message on my cell phone. I will not get it period. I have Verison, and today at 6 AM it said I had no messages. At noon, I had 11 messages dating back to two weeks ago. They as does Alltel have delayed messaging, and they will admit this, if cornered. If you want to book a trip or visit about fishing, call either my cell, or my lodge phone and speak to a person. Becky knows as much about the fishing as I do, as she is really on the ball and knows what we are doing on the lake. During midday, please, and for cripes sakes,"I love you all." don't call me and ask about fishing on my cell. I am with clients and it is just not fair. I had a lady client today, ask me to turn off my phone as I was infringing on her time, and she was right. It embarrased me to almost tears. Next, if you email me, please leave a phone number. We have had at least 2 dozen postal fail to notify returns on emails and I know you just think I am not getting back with you. Also if your computer does not know us, it will throw us into the junk file and you will miss our message. Had a guy the other day chew me out for 10 minutes about not returning his emails. He said he would never book with me. He just wanted to tell me how concieted I was and how bad I stunk for not responding to his emails. I told him to check his Junk mail and he found 6 responses from me. I am more than willing to give what little info I have to anyone. Give me a call usually between 6 and 8 Pm and I will help the best I can. When I'm working, please be considerate of others. I am sure the rest of the guides on this forum will concure. Love you all, and thank you very much. Good Luck, Bill http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 26, 2010 Root Admin Posted April 26, 2010 You need to learn how to text.... real fast. At least learn how to read them!
motoman Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 I know similar threads have come up in the past from guides; and this always leave me scratching my head. - All these calls/e-mails looking for fishing info; isn't that what the OAF boards are for!?!?!?! The boards are FREE! A guides' time is not. - It's callled fishing people, NOT catching. If you're a catcherman, you need to do some research and read the boards; figuring the fish out is part of fishing. - You guides are saints down on The Rock; and have FAR more patience than I with those calls.
CMAC Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 I wouldn't like it either if you called me while I was at work all the time
focused fishing Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 I hear ya Bill. Have the same situation with AT&T, especially when I'm on the water. I hate to answer the phone when I'm guiding but since most folks won't leave a message anymore almost have to. Guy's I'm with Bill if you need my help I'm happy to, either text me or wait till after 5pm to call. Members mrcold Posted April 26, 2010 Members Posted April 26, 2010 First of all, please forgive me if I don't feel TOO bad for you when my eight(twelve) hours of work everyday are spent in a cube and not a boat. But second of all, I do have to say that you(lots of you) are extremely accommodating when it comes to sharing information on this board. I come on here for a few weeks once a year leading up to my trip. I end up asking dozens of annoying questions, yet I get nothing but friendly and helpful responses. I've taken numerous trips to numerous states and always try to find a good forum with good and helpful people. So far, I've only found one for NE and one for MO. Thanks!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 26, 2010 Root Admin Posted April 26, 2010 And... the guides on this board are only a fraction of the total number on, say, Table Rock. Do the other guides know about OAF? You bet. For differing reasons, they don't post here. Some do on other sites, ie. fishing reports (fee based and free). I appreciate all who do and in return promote their services all I can on the site.
