Champ188 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Looking to buy a Lowrance 520c unit fast ... by Thursday. My 5-year-old Garmin bit the dust this past weekend, leaving me without GPS and Central Pro-Am coming up this weekend. The reason I'd like to have the 520c or something very similar is that I have a 510c (non-GPS model) on the bow and am very fond of it. If anyone has a 520c or 522c they want to sell reasonable, please let me know. No transducer needed but will take one. Just unit and power cord will do. Thanks in advance for any help.
denjac Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Champ, Its not what you want but I have a good 510 c you can borrow until you get what you want. Give me an address and I will overnight it to you today, or meet you halfway between there and Joplin. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. fozzype Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Champ, I have a 520C that the antenna has just quit me. I love the graph and the GPS, However Lowrance's customer service just flat out stinks. Also, antena failure is very common in these units. Lowrance says anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 MONTHS to get the antena repaired. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I will never buy another new lowrance product. Their 20 minute wait when calling them ofter turns into hours. Emailed them and it took 5 weeks to reply. Their customer service will force me to the other side. By the way, if anybody has a LGC 3000 antenna, I need to buy one. Brett B. Foz
Champ188 Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 Denny and kbillb, so very nice of both of you to offer use of those units. Can't say how much I appreciate it. I believe I'm going to go ahead and buy a new Lowrance HDS-5 unit. With my boat going up for sale soon, I hesitated to spend the money but I think it will just add value to the boat. Again, thanks so much guys.

If someone gave me a new Lowrance unit or I won one it would immediately be for sale and I wouldn't sell it to a good friend or relative and would thoroughly warn any buyer. From prior experience with two expensive Lowrance GPS units I can tell you their next move will be to "obsolete" your unit and refuse to repair it. You will probably be very happy moving to "the other side", I certainly am. Try searching eBay for your antenna. Also, try contacting Bass Pro outlet store in Springfield, I found an antenna there for my "obsolete" LCX-15MT in a mapping kit they were clearing out. I think mine was an LGC 2000.
sfiser Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Fozz I have a brand new 3000 antena I am never going to use. I sent you a pm about it
