Members Casey Self Posted June 9, 2010 Members Posted June 9, 2010 So since the camera is out ,,,,did Bennett get hit with this big rain mass that came through yesturday. We got 3 inches of rain at my house, flash flooded everything around. Heading down in the morning, hopefully its still in good shape and the rain keeps to a minimum! NoLuck Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?06923500 No, it does not appear to be high. A little rain here and there is a good thing.
Bob A Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 And to respond late - issuing tickets for having stringers w/out your name and address on them?? Are you out of your skull? You don't have your name on your stringer and someone else takes it, that's your own dumb fault. Save the tickets for the tag-less. <Insert multi-page conversation which ends with people telling me that if I don't like the [government run] trout park regs, I can fish elsewhere> No, Fly Guy, I am NOT out of my skull. Now, just take a deep breath, calm down, relax and pull up your big girl panties before you choke on your indignation. My post was specifically pointed toward some benefits of having sensible enforcements at Bennett. We've all seen perfect examples of "fishermen" who violate the most basic rules and regs designed to maintain some form of quality in maintaining the park fishery. Now if this bothers you, so be it. Just calm down, my friend. Bob A
Kayser Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 I've only been to Roaring River once, quite a while ago, but the time I went the people in the park store made sure that you had your name on your stringer, and said that the game warden would definitely issue tickets for not having your name on it. WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
FlyFishinFool Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 When I asked, the folks in the store at BSSP checked with the park ranger who told them you would get a ticket for having an unlabeled stringer if it was NOT atttached directly to you. So if you have a stringer attached to your vest or belt you have nothing to worry about. The unlabeled stringer issue only applies to a stringer NOT attached to your body - but I guess that means you better keep the stringer attached while you clean your fish! The only other problem might be those microscopic floating cameras all over the park!!!! Then I remember what an old man told me... " Ninety percent of what a trout eats is brown, fuzzy, about 1/2 inch long and underwater."
NoLuck Posted June 11, 2010 Author Posted June 11, 2010 Them cameras are everywhere man. The rocks on the stream bed have em too. Watch out for them things that look like muskrats and blue herons. Them are actually surveillance cams.
stlfisher Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 I heard that the CO agent's now have suveillance camera's in their strike indicator's too.

NoLuck Posted June 13, 2010 Author Posted June 13, 2010 Well I'm down here at Bennett and in my camper. I just hope that while I was out fishing that they didn't install a survielance camera in my camper. Anyway, fishing was OK at best. Tons of people for free fishing weekend. The water has really cleared up well, still a little bit higher than normal but it isn't too bad. Today I just realized that I need to tie some dang flys. Luckily I found something that the fish wanted. Fish numbers still appear to be lower than years past. Work has been started on the hatchery addition too. Hopefully they will get caught up and get the stocking back to what it once was. I'll do a report when I get home and I can get on a real computer instead of this iPhone.
