Donna G Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Way to go James and Donna. Now you can go get that new fish finder or maybe a new boat! Congrads thats really a big 2nd considering the company you were in. Actually, the fish finder came before the check. Whew! Glad Champ pulled it out. Thanks so much. Donna G Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Must have been the picnic in the tornado during pre-fish? Congrats! Couldn't happen to better folks. Pays to fish with your best friend! Thanks, Techo. We have a lot of fun. We both love tournament bass fishing and we are best friends. It doesn't get any better than that - fishing with your best friend. Champ's buds tease him that he does better when he's fishing with me than by himself. Not sure about that, but it is funny. He reminded me yesterday that we have had five top 10 finishes in the last year. Ready for a first place, though. Oh, absolutely. Picnic in a tornado charged us up. lol Enjoyed the picnic and good to meet your missus. Hope you whack 'em in your derby today. You guys kicked but,And i liked the point that it was a woman and a man thing lol. We got number 2 all so but only 16 boats in hour little fishing deal. The Miss Was very happy winning second big bass, and put us in second place. She has never fished in a tournament befor. And I love her for that.I think now Im In trouble.Great Job . Snakem Out. Thank you. Very cool that you and your lady got 2nd place in her first derby. I'm proud of Champ that he restrained himself on the weigh-in stage and didn't say "Beat you with a girl...neener, neener." Champ188 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 You guys are too nice and we so much appreciate your kind words, but not nearly as much as your friendship. Before we ever left Ahoy's on Sunday afternoon, Donna and I were talking that any day you finish second to Tim Sainato anywhere, much less on his home lake, you've had yourself a heckuva day. Bill is dead-on right about him — no one works harder or fishes smarter than him. And besides, he's a nice guy. Actually, we were glad to see him score the Nitro bonus money Sunday after he missed out on it by 4/10ths of a pound on Saturday in the pro-am. OK, gotta brag just a tiny bit here and more on my life partner than myself — Since CPAA started team circuits in 2009, we have fished 10 events together including a couple of the CPAA Skeeter derbies last year. Out of those 10, we've had five top 10 finishes. Guys, don't be afraid to let your wife be your tournament partner. One of the reasons I tend to fish well on Sundays is that I'm NEVER more at ease and able to let my feeble mind work as best it can than when Donna is in the boat with me. And she holds up her end of the deal on catching fish, too. I'm sure that Techo and Snakem will agree that there's something special about sharing time on the water with your best friend. Again, thanks for all of your kind thoughts and words. We appreciate all of you.
dwiebenga Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Champ and Donna, Great job! Very exciting to see the OAF represented! Keep it up! Dave
dwiebenga Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 A bit off topic, but a plug for Tim; his Table Rock DVD is GREAT! Very informative and entertaining. No filler, lots of great info and how-to. Not just fishing footage. - Looks like Champ and Donna could put together a Table Rock how-to DVD also? How do you obtain Tim's Table Rock DVD?
SRV1990 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 How do you obtain Tim's Table Rock DVD? I bought it a few years ago at BPS. Since I was still relatively new to fishing TRL it was definitely worth the money to me. Tom PS... Congrats Champ and Donna!!! I have never had so much fun as fishing with Shell (Mrs.) We are weighing more fish and have a great time. Tim Carpenter
